Planning a Bachelor Party

This is my task. My friend, who I've been close to since we were in grade school, is getting married soon and I am assuming the responsibility of organizing and executing this for him. I am the best man, after all.

I'm looking for any ideas: Games, activities, etc. I thought a roast of the groom would be fun as hell.

I imagine a flood of joke posts from certain people (you know who you are), but I am really looking for some honest ideas.

This is a first time thing for me, so any serious contribution to the brainstorming is appreciated. :)

Unfortunately that is not doable, but thank you for the suggestion.

Honestly, he's a "kick back with the guys and drink our asses off" kind of guy, so that's going to be the basic framework of the evening.

Party is this weekend. I'm contemplating whether to organize it at a bar (a pretty cool one at that, and they will have live entertainment that nigh), or at someone's house who has volunteered it.

I'm weighing out the expenses for everyone, and also what the groom would like. He says that the bar that I had in mind would be "pretty kick ass". I'm struggling with how much liberty I should take with all this. I'm trying to involve him in the planning, but not too much because I'd like there to be some element of surprise and excitement.

Admittedly, the date snuck up on me. I'm trying to do everything possible to make this an unforgettable and really fun night for him in a short amount of time.

Tough to beat an environment with lots of friends, a boatload of booze (and maybe other party favors, depending on your tastes) and a reason to razz someone. Within this framework I like the idea of a Roast.
Someone will drastically overdo it and that alone is worth the price of admission.

I've heard of this... pretty cool idea. I'll have to look into it and give it some thought.

Im not one for clubs so my buds took me camping in a good old newfie gravel pit... no worries of the cops or noise complaints. They duct taped a plastic mug to my hand and made sure it was full all night long. It was one hell of a drunk. Cant beat campfires, wacky tabaccy, loud music, and booze.

Needless to say black out city

Sounds like a great idea, but knowing some of the people on the guest list, it could end up in damages and cop calls.

So what's the plan, making any progress?

Somebody graciously volunteered their house and backyard for the festivities. The groom and I both decided that this would be a good decision in terms of getting the most bang for our buck, booze wise.

I plan on ordering a number of pizzas for everyone to feast on.

I know that these two things will be home-runs for him... it's just his style. But I don't want to leave it at that. I'm trying to think of some funny pranks/activities to pull or something just to liven the night up a little more.

I read this and I think it has some serious comedic potential:

Pass out old keys at the beginning of the party to everyone except the groom. At some point during the night, stand up and make a speech about how the bride has made her choice, and anyone who still has a key to her apartment should give it back now. Then, hold up a small bowl. Everyone should come up and place their keys into the bowl, which should start to overflow for an even greater comedic effect.

I was really on the roast idea, but with further thought I feel that it could be hilarious, or dangerous. Some people attending could get way too drunk for their own good to deliver a all-out-of-fun type of joke without it being seriously offensive. The groom can be a sensitive fellow at times. Plus, I think I'm really the only one who might actually sit down and write some jokes. :geek:

At this point, I'm just trying to get some fun activites in the night so it doesn't resort to a bunch of dudes just standing around drinking like crazy... which, wouldn't not go over okay, but I just think the night has room to get more fun and creative.

    That's where I'm at.

I've also rethought the stripper idea after he said he "could go for some boobs.":lol:

Probably about 20 - 25 people. Only family member that's been invited is his brother.

It was a success. There was indeed beer, booze, bud, and boobies.

There was a surprise from a couple of friends that attended: I walked in to a nice array of porno mags laid out on a table in the middle of the room where everyone was gathered. Funny shit.

I can't possibly count how many times I saw pretty much each man there stopping with a beer in hand and just casually browsing. Had me laughing all night long.
