Hey Everyone!
Do you love Pearl Jam? Do you love helping people? Then I have a deal for you.
The Rotary Club of Giddings, Texas is extremely grateful that Pearl Jam (that's right Eddie, Matt, Jeff, Stone and Mike) donated a mint PJ20 double cd soundtrack signed by each member of the band.
Who is Pearl Jam (as if you didn't know)?
From Wikipedia:
Pearl Jam is an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. Since its inception, the band's line-up has included Eddie Vedder (vocals), Stone Gossard (guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), and Mike McCready (guitar). The band's current drummer is Matt Cameron, also of Soundgarden, who has been with the band since 1998.
Formed after the demise of Gossard and Ament's previous band, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam broke into the mainstream with its debut album, Ten. One of the key bands of the grunge movement in the early 1990s, Pearl Jam was criticized early on as being a corporate cash-in on the alternative rock explosion. However, over the course of the band's career, its members became noted for their refusal to adhere to traditional music industry practices, including refusing to make music videos and engaging in a much-publicized boycott of Ticketmaster. In 2006, Rolling Stone described the band as having "spent much of the past decade deliberately tearing apart their own fame."
To date, the band has sold over 31.5 million records in the U.S, and an estimated 60 million worldwide. Pearl Jam has outlasted many of its contemporaries from the alternative rock breakthrough of the early 1990s, and is considered one of the most influential bands of the decade. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic referred to Pearl Jam as "the most popular American rock & roll band of the '90s."
What is the item?
The item is a double cd soundtrack from PJ20, the pearl jam documentary by Cameron Crowe released in 2011. The fold out case has been signed by the current band members Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron. The item is open to facilitate the signing of the item.
Why did they donate this item?
Polio is a crippling and potentially fatal infectious disease which strikes children mainly under the age of 5. There is no cure for polio. It can cause paralysis within hours, and such paralysis is almost always irreversible. Historically, Polio has been the world's greatest cause of disability.
That being said there is hope. It can be prevented by a vaccine costing as little as $0.60. For more than 25 years, Rotary has led the Private sector in the global effort to rid the world of this crippling disease. Beginning in 1985, Rotary's leadership inspired the World Health Assembly to pass a resolution to eradicate polio. PolioPlus helps Rotary fund operational costs such as transportation, vaccine delivery, social mobilization and training of health workers. Over the past 25 years, polio has been narrowed through these efforts to just three countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria (India was taken off the WHO's list of polio-endemic countries this year). I would encourage you to visit the rotary.org website for more information about the PolioPlus program.
ALL PROCEEDS FOR THIS ITEM WILL BE DONATED TO POLIO PLUS.

Second, is it fair to all concerned?
Third, will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Fourth, will it be beneficial to all concerned?

I just checked out the listing on ebay & would love to bid on it. Just one problem tho - I'm in Australia & the auction specifies ships to USA only. I could not find the usual links on the auction page to "contact seller" to ask if theres a possibility of posting to Australia if I was to bid on it. Do you know if that would be possible? I've spent years searching for a nice piece of signed PJ memorabilia, and would be even happier to buy it knowing the $$ goes to a good cause.
Thanks, Hel.
