Explain Summerfest

Hi,
After hearing rumblings that Pearl Jam isn't going to come South on this tour, I'm thinking about driving up to Milwaukee for the June 30th Summerfest show. How exactly does that work? If I buy a reserved seat, do I also get to go see bands at any of the other stages?

Any suggestions for lodging or hotels that are close by?

Do you think I should shell out the cash and go or wait to see if they announce another leg and stop in St. Louis???
