I would love something more out there. I hope Jeff holds the rest of the band to this.
It's been 3 years and I like a couple songs on Backspacer more than when it first came out, but to me it's still the weakest album as a whole. Riot Act on the other hand, has aged beautifully to my ears and I never would have expected it to.

I would like a more pyschedelic rock album ala the Beatles. Not going to happen I would bet. Either way, Jeff should get more songs next time.

I worry Brendan will take what ever they do and make it all shiny and clean like Backspacer.... not that I dont like that album. Don't let em Jeff and Ed! . Just ready for the "unpolished" Pearl Jam to come back. Another No Code/Binaural is what I hope for.... Off the Earth is a great sign though.

You realize Brendan did No Code, right?
Brendan has kinda lost the magic touch though since the 90s in my opinion. He did Working on a Dream, one of the overall absolute weakest and worst Springsteen albums of all time. When I heard that I lost all hope for backspacer.

Why? i would rather a fresh album all new songs we've never heard before, save of the earth for lost dog 2 or the 2012 xmas single please.
