During the 2008 election cycle, Radio Personality Howard Stern exposed the understanding of a number of then-Senator Obama’s supporters. By replacing Barack Obama’s positions with those of Arizona Senator John McCain, Stern successfully proved what most already suspected; many of Senator Obama’s most ardent advocates did not know much regarding his platform beyond the “Hope and Change” rhetoric.

So what happens when they replace John McCain with Mitt Romney, and do the “position-switcheroo” with the President, once again? It seems unemployment is not the only thing that has remained stagnate since 2008 – the level of understanding and knowledge of Obama supporters has remained unchanged as well. Take a look… It’s hilarious, yet sad at the same time.

Exactly what I thought of with this titled thread and every other stating an opinion someone has of a candidate (or a candidate's supporters)...

"Wow, So - and - so thinks this, so It must be true!"
  • So tell me... have the obese idiots at Tea Party rallies stopped shrieking about "THAT SOCIALIST COMMUNIST DICTATOR FASCIST" and actually looked those words up to see what they mean?

    No?

    Of course not.

you can find supporters of just about anything who don't understand anything.

People are dumb. Is this news?

It's nice though, that the OP and that troll who posted next keep this all one-sided.

Quite funny. We're all idiots though, despite what our gigantic egos tell us.

This is just Jay Leno's (or is it Letterman?) man-on-the-street segment, targeted at one political party. Sadly I'm sure you could find plenty of voters on both sides of the proverbial aisle that would be made fools of in such an exercise.

Sorry, what's so confusing? The late night segment is intended to expose how little most people know about history and politics. This does the same, except with a focus on Democratic voters. Please enlighten me as to the conceptual difference.

Or just put a few more emoticons and add nothing to the conversation. Your prerogative.

No disrespect to you and im Sorry I didn't explain, but Leno is known (at least in howards world) for using several segments that Howard created. Some examples include the "man on the street" segment, animals picking football picks and others. Leno even hired one of Howard's writers that did crazy interviews.

    this.

unfortunately, blind partisanship breeds ignorance. it happens on both sides, and it would be very interesting to see who would actually win if everyone paid attention. I think political history would be radically different.

  • This is why there should be a 10 question exam before you vote (available as an audio or written exam/ available in multiple languages).

The whole reason behind being a legal voting age is the assumption that you're making an educated/conscious vote. Back up that assumption with a basic voting exam.

it's hard enough to get people in North America to vote. add a test to that, and it slashes that percentage to a miniscule amount. the right to vote is considered nowadays as more of an annoyance than a right that should be exercised.

maybe have a combined liquor/junk food/voting license, and you may be onto something.

  • What's wrong with that? as long as you have 30 + votes you have a population sample. If people don't want to take the effort do know who at the most basic level whom they're voting for, then don't vote.

what's wrong with that is then you have only those of a certain class and age voting. and that, is a BIG problem.

No you don't, why assume people of only a certain class and age are going to put in the effort to learn 10 easily available to find answers?

Your snarky emos were in defense of howard sterns artistic integrity? Seriously? He founded one of the saddest, most formulaic, trite art forms we have. I don't deny his impact on our culture and media, but to me that's more a condemnation of art and media than a praise of shock jockdom.

Holy shit I'm so off topic. I actually never meant my initial comment as a comparison of Leno to stern. Your indignant defense just struck a nerve. The point was, so fucking what? Some people blindly support Obama. You'll find intellectual blindness in many corners of society, as evidenced by stern and his apparent copycat, Leno.
