CID entertainment/Deluna fest
I am not sure if this is the appropriate place for this topic, but I was wondering what experiences others have had booking trips with CID entertainment.
I booked the VIP Deluna PearlJam package with them for myself and my husband. VIP at deluna was a joke, but that's a separate issue. Check in was fine- we got our posters and "survival kit" with no problem. We were told to meet at a certain place before the Pearl Jam set Friday night, to be taken to the "special viewing area". We met there and waited. Unbeknownst to us, they were attempting to clear out other VIP patrons from the area in front of the stage . They were not successful, then led us in a mad dash in to the middle of a hostile (understandably!) crowd. I'm quite short, so I booked the package specifically so that I wouldn't be smashed in a crowd, unable to see. I couldn't see, and the area was so crowded that I was afraid of passing out, so we left and watched from the back of the VIP area. I do think that someof the CID group did get to the front, but people were (I heard later) fighting up there.
That said, the Pearl Jam set was really great, and I was glad to be there, but i could have gotten that experience for the much cheaper general admission price. The Foo Fighters were also spectacular last night.
Has anyone else had experience with CID? I'm not sure how much of the was their fault vs the Deluna organizers. I have written their customer service department and am awaiting an answer as to what went wrong. It was terribly disappointing.

We went through this as well. My wife actually got hit in the head down in front. We are extremely unhappy about this package. This was not only disorganized it placed it's customers in a very volatile and harmful environment. Never seen anything like this and have used entertainment packages in the past. I wish I could get a list of every CID person and email that was there on Friday so we could file some sort of lawsuit or least demand for refund from CID. I will be more than happy to give my survival kit back. Nothing in that kit would helps us unless it contained shoulder pads and a helmet, maybe a taser as well.0

me too. i knew this was a matter of time before we started to hear these stories when i heard that pearl jam was going to start using them. i would expect for pj to change this in the futureAtlanta, GA 8/7/00...Atlanta, GA 4/19/03...Columbia, SC 6/16/08...New Orleans, LA 5/1/10...East Troy, WI 9/3/11... $2000 a ticket. really.
gold circle ticketing is something pearl jam doesn't buy into, which is just another reason why i love stadium shows
i wish i had $2000 to spend0 -
Nothing against stadium shows, but I typically don't go, since as a short person general admission doesn't normally work out very well, and I don't enjoy large shows where I am far away and can't see anything. I booked deluna before the missoula show was announced, or i might have skipped it. (I'm glad I didn't, because I saw a lot of great bands)
I don't know about $2000 a ticket, unless that was something different.. The package included hotel and the "VIP" deluna fest passes.
I'm still waiting to hear from CID...nothing yet. MW, I would email CID and/or call. The person I talked to said that 6 people had called her already (Saturday am) and that when their onsite people returned to the office they were going to discuss how to handle this.
That said, I am very much looking forward to Missoula, where I understand that every seat is a good seat, and I actually have a seat !0 -
CID's phone number is 888 805 8930 they gave it to me over twitter. Since I just got back from the festival a few hours ago, I have not called it yet. When I do call these crooked idiots tomorrow morning I will be demanding a partial refund because of their gross incompetence. It was more than just poor planning that resulted in a lot of paying customers (like me) getting screwed, it was dangerous. Those idiots are lucky no one got seriously hurt.0

Slightly offtopic, but what was in the survival kit? Tell me there wasn't another Vault CD!0

So, they are offering a $200 refund and a $200 future booking credit ( which is fairly worthless, since I have no desire to do business with them again). Minus early purchase VIP tickets and hotel at retail prices , I reckon I paid $1600 for 2 posters and 2 survival kits . The kits were a canvas bag, cheap shades, plastic water bottle, and lip balm.0

The Deluna lineup was great. The Deluna organization was atrocious. Really enjoyed PJ (was the third time I have seen them and by far my favorite show) but the Deluna Trolley service was a joke. I feel bad for the VIP folks. They got hosed.Memphis '00 Little Rock '03 Pensacola '12 Charlotte '13 Greenville '16 Columbia '16 Philly '24, Balt '24, Atl '25, Atl '25, Raleigh '250

Ok... not really sad I didn't get the survival guide now.0 -

Two regular VIP tickets would have run you $1700.
Three nights at the Hilton would run you $600.
Total that is $2,300.
The price for the Hilton travel package, by comparison, is $2,129
I think that's kind of a fair refund if you want to use that booking credit. Like you, I don't. So tomorrow I am calling them and demanding a $400 refund. I'll let everyone know how that goes.0 -
I just spoke with Dan Berkowitz, who contacted me and expressed sincere regret and dismay over the situation. He did say that the $200 refund was all they could do because of their cost, but very much wanted to make it up to us wrt a future event. So we will see. I have to say that I appreciate the effort.0
