Median Income Falling Still

According to a new study by Pew median household incomes are falling two years after the Great Recession ended.

Why's this matter? Well, while our Fed continues to print money to save us "from the disaster" (they caused IMHO), they are inflating many items in value (food, energy, trying to inflate housing, stocks, etc). It would be better for these items to "deflate" (or prices to lower). Because our consumers don't have the money they once did.

What do many in the bottom end do now? Turn to the government - food stamps are at record highs. Yet, our government is stuck in a situation where increasing debt (to fund these programs, as well as other welfare programs) is fueling additional problems. And since our Fed is the primary buyer of government debt, this only exacerbates the original problem mentioned - inflation.

Now that the world is feeling the punch, the upsetment is not residing only in US. There seems to be a growing conflict in China/Japan, the EU is a mess, and let's not even get into the Middle East.

Welcome to 2012. We're doomed.

The Fed's the problem. They are trying to "inflate" the economy.

Well, Ron Paul would have helped here in Nov - at least slightly to help get this issue in the public eye. He did that, to an extent. But, no the election won't really matter now that it's Romney and Obama. I do think Romney said he'd fire Bernanke, but who cares... Bernanke is an idiot, but there's tons of idiots to replace him. The problems the system.

We just need both parties to start to listen to the message of no more "quantitative easing" (QE). No more printing money trying to cause inflation. It's not helping - this statistic is evidence. We need to get the message out - That sort of thing.

The Fed's mandate was once - control inflation. Then it became - control inflation AND unemployment. A step in the right direction would be - Ok Fed, go back to just limiting inflation. That, I believe, is a very, very reasonable request.

The Occupy Movement, or a good number of those involved in it, call for an audit of the Fed. As does the Tea Party. DC, are you listening?

I hear you but even the TOM needs more direction/coordination to be effective with a clear message it should be a movement with no political affiliations at all ....

Yep. You got it right. The problem with the Occupy and Tea Party movements were they were coerced by political parties. Can't let that happen. This needs to be a singular issue one that the heavy majority (Dems, Reps, Libertarians, Socialists, etc.) could all get behind.

It's funny that these areas actually do exist. Yet, no one cares because they aren't part of the political football game that people enjoy watching and participating in.
