Some of them may work with other tours when PJ's not touring. Kealy is the lights person. I've also seen that "Ramone" guy, Ed's tech, a lot. Other than that, I have no idea.

Check out the special feature on the MSG 2003 DVD to see more of the crew.

  • They jump on another tour. I've been a stagehand for six years. You see the same faces all the time. If their good at what they do, they get taken care of! Local NO. 5!! I hear some of the guitar techs sell guitar picks for beer money when there not touring!

I would love to see more documentary/special features from the crew like the MSG 2003 DVD to gather their perspective adn hear their stories - I think that would be pretty cool to see sometime. Maybe we'll see some more of something like this when the Alpine boots/DVD are released?

    didn't see that

not exactly crew, but we got to talk to Kevin (the guy filming at the shows) after one of Ed's solo gigs in Amsterdam. Very nice guy. he asked us if we ever got to see the cities while PJ tours, or if we just see the venues like he does cause we line up all day  still seems to very much enjoy what he's doing. he recognized some of the other people standing next to us too..."I have front row footage of you - from like 1996"

The permanent group of crew members (equipment technicians, audio engineers, production staffers) receive a retainer fee but are free to do other things when the band isn't in need of their services. They typically receive a 6-9 month lead time about the band's upcoming plans and schedule themselves accordingly. The band is appreciative of the crew and doesn't cut corners when it comes to treating them well: the crew will stay in the same hotel as the band, receive a generous share of tour merchandise sales, and generally speaking aren't roughing it while at work. In turn the crew is extremely protective of the band members and very dedicated to their jobs.

I think i've seen Ed's tech guy with the band for over a dozen years maybe. I recall because he had a shirt on once that said "Raw fucking power" and I thought that was funny.

I also think i read somewhere that most of the road crew are like family to the band and that many of them have been with them for a very long time.

"wave" Hi Kevin!-you have footage of me in Edmonton!

I have seen one familiar face at a few of the PJ-related events, a true jack-of-all-trades.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

    Thanks for these great stories!

This is from youtube - a crew member called Keith and he has a daughter named Lulu, and PJ decided to sing for her on her 16th birthday! Eddie told that he had held her when she was a newborn baby! This is a very sweet clip!

This really is like a big, great family.
