This is the best thread because it was the best gig ever! :D

I wasn't there, so I'm not 100% sure, but I highly doubt it is there best gig ever. Good.....yes, the best......sorry....I doubt it... :)

    Here here! ;)

Shit, I really oughta start getting myself suited....

and make sure you have a clean pair of underwear on! Not to much after-shave (or eau de toilette)... don't smell like a tart's boudoir.. just enough to entice... :D

Have a lovely evening and report back (on the dublin thread!!!)

Sorry to the doubters, but the Astoria was the best gig ever.....Dublin just couldn't compare.
A democracy on paper, apparently well ordered, regularly subverted by irrational chaos.

    London - 20/4/2006
    Dublin - 23/8/2006
    London - 18/6/2007
    New York City - 24/6/2008

    Leeds - 6/7/2014

Astoria was just mind-blowingly awesome. Hard to describe the feeling of being in such an intimate venue with the world's greatest band right in front of you taking you to such emotional heights that you never thought possible.

And to make it better, it was my first ever PJ show so it was a hard act to follow....and i hate to say this in an Astoria thread, but the impossibly actually happened because Lisbon 1 & 2, Verona and Milan surpassed it!

    Never said Dublin did compare.....

there have been some epic shows in PJ history.......some that are almost impossible to top......this may make the top 10 all time, I don't know....but # one it will not be......IMO

go without them playing on your entire continent for 6 years..then they give you a small club gig in your hometown ...and then tell me it wasn't the best gig ever!

but if you werent there you cant really say can you? I mean i wasnt at the Gorge gigs so therefore IMO the Astoria show was better than that... its based on your personal experience surely!

So therefore, the Astoria was the best gig ever... for me!!!

Its like me saying London is the best city i've ever been to you and you saying "there are better cities than London" too which i'm sure you'd be right... but i've never been to them so for me, London is
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

For the people that went it was their best gig ever, comparing it to other gigs you haven't been to is impossible but those that were there will never forget... and it was absolutely worth paying through the nose to get there :o

Ah... if only there could be an annual Astoria gig.
but fan club only this time...none of those media twats.
2 tickets per UK/Ireland fanclub member should fit just right.

And don't worry, my spare at the very least would go to a foreigner guest :D...I have 4 friends that would most likely do the same.
