Hang out Festival

So, when I went to see DMB in Atlanta I took a bump and scored free plane tickets on Air Tran. The catch is I have to use them in a year and Air Tran destinations are pretty limited since they merged with Southwest. The good news is the Hang out festival announced their "tentative" dates which falls within a year of me using my tickets. My question is in regards to lodging and traffic? I am thinking I'm better off staying in Gulf Shores as you can come and go as you please from the festival but Air Tran flies into Pensacola. The tough part is when you check the dates even now on Expedia many of the hotels are already saying not available. Anyone have any experience with this festival?

I went two years ago and had a fantastic time. We rented a condo down there for the weekend. They have a bus line that runs from the festival down the strip. It pretty much runs all the way down th the bridge that connects AL and FL we stayed on the far end and took the bus in to the the festival in the mornign and back out at night.

I don't know if that helps but two years ago was really good. I could not convince anyone to go with me this past year or i would have gone back. Tunes ont he beach are awesome.

This did help thanks. We are staying at the Lighthouse Condos which is just under a mile from the festival.
