oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
All good questions. It is pretty strange and pretty ugly.
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
first I hear of a poster.. we talked at length on the fact there was no poster
if there was a poster it was an extremely well kept secret... so secret No-one got one..
So what's the advantage in making an unofficial poster with a print run of 50. The cost of doing so is going to outweigh what you can get for the 50 posters. I know some poster designers and some screen printers. If this is a means of making money - I'd love to know. I could set up a business of creating fugly posters for concerts with tickets like gold dust that didn't have posters.
Would anyone be interested in a screen printed poster for the O2 led zep gig? Or maybe the Radiohead secret gig in London this month?
If there had been an official Astoria poster, it'd probably have shown up in the Ames Bros books as all the other ones from around that time did so.
Astoria didn't get it's own poster but we did get cool Astoria t-shirts which had a kind of what you might have expected the poster to look like design on the back.
Mine's looking a bit past it now though :(
A democracy on paper, apparently well ordered, regularly subverted by irrational chaos.

there was a poster for Led Zep I believe...not nice though I heard.
The thread put me in mind to actually work out a business plan for designing posters. I have a several mates who are poster collecting graphic designers. If anyone knows bands that would be interested in Screen Printed quality poster designs for gigs you should let me know. I did the maths and I think it would actually be feasable.

Never saw a poster for Astoria and never was (until this one!). Somehow doesn't seem legit to me!
