Gary Clark Jr. - Made in America
Did anyone else here check out Gary Clarke Jr. at MIA? That dude is an AMAZING guitar player. It was cool to be in the crowd, as it collectively realized how great the performance they were witnessing was and chanted Gary's name. His reaction seemed like it was the first time a crowd reacted that way toward him. Hopefully McCready got to check him out and PJ will let him open on their next tour. The guy is a blast.

Wow, you saw him at Mercury Lounge? That must have been amazing.
I've caught Gary twice recently, Newport Folk Festival and MIA Festival, great both times. Couldn't believe how few people were there to see him at MIA though. Obviously the crowd filled up as they staggered the bands so nobody was playing against each other, but I'd say up until about 20 minutes before he went on, you could literally walk right up to the stage. There were only like 100-150 people waiting, it was pretty surprising.
The crowd seemed to really dig him though, people were definitely into it."This is about as perfect a crowd as you can get. I hate to placate, I ain't placating...." - EV, 9/29/960 -
Saw him at lollapalooza in august....without a doubt the best act there and most exciting new find for me as I had never heard him before! Absolutely savage player!

Great player - between him and Joe Bonamassa (the current king IMO), the future of blues guitar is safe - Gary's new full length album drops October 23 I believe.0
