Directv isnt perfect, but it has been 100x better than any cable company I have had to deal with:
Adelphia (lol), Time Warner, Charter, Comcast.

I only had one issue so far with a box not working right, and instead of scheduling a service call a week later with a 6 hour window, Verizon overnighted me a new box and I was up and running the next day and put the old box back in the box with the prepaid UPS label.

Had them for over a year, my rate went through the roof. I called and said I could get lower with Directv, and is there anything they can do to reduce my rate to keep the business.
They told me no, and too bad.
So I said Im done with cable, but Ill keep the internet
they said the internet goes from $40 to $75... but if I subscribe to $15 basic cable and not use it, I can keep the $40 internet.

now I call directv every time my contract is up and they are pretty good about throwing a few bones.

1.Go through the automated menu....phone number....what's your isssue...blah blah blah
2.WHen you finally get a human on the phone, they make you repeat everything you just told the automated system! :? :fp:
3.Unplug your modem and wait 45 seconds.
4.Plug in your modem
At this point I'm 25 minutes into the phone call and nothing is changed.
"Well Mr.Smith, we apoligize for the inconvenience but we would like to send out a technician. How is next Wednesday between 10:00 and 1:00?" :fp:
AT the end of the call they ask me if I were surveyed would I give them anything other than an 8,9,or 10 which indicates great service. I tell them yes. They ask why. I tell them becasue my issue isn't resolved how can I give you positive remarks. They tell me they are working to resolve the issue. I tell them then ask me then. I hang up. Fifteen minutes later I get a call FROM A LIVE FUCKING PERSON from TWC asking me about my experience? :fp:
