actually that is an old popular rumor but the fact is that the tectonic plates that move during an earth quake(in cali.) move north and south and keep moving at about the rate of one inch per year,in about 5000 years San Diego and San Fransisco will be neighboring communitys...or so I have read

I vacationed about 80 Km's from there last Christmas...but it sounds like minimal damage which is good.
