I don't give a shit if you are a mormon or if your dad is kenyan communist. I think this type of info says at least 50% of what we really need to know about you and what you will be worried about when you are the prez. If I was king of the rules, I'd make candidates post this stuff on the screen for 45 seconds before any bullshit commercial they run on tv, print, web, etc.

Jon Huntsman's biggest donor was the UFC???

Obama has a few universities and Microsoft as his biggest donors. Romney has a murderer's row of Polaris_X's worst enemy.

Obama has raised $343M and spent $263M

Romney has raised $193M and spent $163M

Not surprised on either account but still, WOW! Sharing this
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

This is very interesting! Thanks for sharing.

But also, does it make anyone else a little sad that this breakdown of donations says more about our democracy than the actual votes being tallied to determine who wins? :(

  • I didn't look at this source article when first posted, because i *ass*umed that it was the same old shit:
    Candidate D
    banks
    banks
    university
    banks
    high tech
    banks
    lawyers

    Candidate R
    banks
    banks
    university
    banks
    high tech
    banks
    lawyers

    BUT
    Something is VERY "wrong" here.
The money "votes" went from being entirely SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE last time around
(truly, Obama and McCain EACH had several of the SAME banks in the top spot, and had essentially the same blend of large cap money behind them)

THIS time around it is like the elite outliers for obama
and the ENTIRE BANKING ESTABLISHMENT JUMPED SHIP and is plugging for Romney?

    WTF???

Given that Harvard and Google are behind Obama,
it makes me think there is a MASSIVE SCHISM in the Elite Power Structure?
Anyone else extremely confused by the breakdown of top contributors?
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
