Those are actually both pretty solid lists to me. He needed a few more slots for the snubs list to include Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, and probably a few others like Bon Jovi.

He's right on with GBV, along with many other indie bands...Dinosaur Jr., MBV, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Flaming Lips. etc. etc.
And more props to the Monkees: Their break-up was a middle finger to corporate control, they gave Jimi Hendrix his first US arena gigs (although he was booed off stage by 12 year old girls), and they created the cult classic movie: Head.
The Monkees - Randy Scouse Git
That's where it should be centered. Aside from Kiss, who have made their own bed when it comes to being snubbed there's not a more deserving band left out.
Iron Maiden even gets snubbed on a list of top snubs.
Pearl Jam bootlegs:

I think it was Mike who said that...on That Metal Show.

Glad to see the blogger give some love to Todd Rundgren. :ugeek:
Reuben Frank sucks.
I could probably dig and think of more BS tunes, but nothin that comes close to For What It's Worth as far as widespread acclaim. I don't think he meant it literally.
Would Harrison be in if he wasn't a Beatle? I don't think so
Both of those seem like a good way to get names like the Beatles, Neil Young and Stephen Still tossed around in relation to the RnR HoF more than they're deserving track records.
I think he's being kinda harsh/pompous on some of them but that can be a good tool for getting one's point across.
Nope, they're always in the list of bands that Eddie Trunk, as annoying as he is, rolls out when making his rants.
Did he ever hear Broken Arrow by Buffalo Springfield?

Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; WF Center 9/7/24; WF Center 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24
Tres Mtns - TLA 3/23/11; EV - Tower Theatre 6/25/11; Temple of the Dog - Tower Theatre 11/5/16
What an ass.
If you want to talk about people who shouldn't be in, try Madonna. Is the HOF supposed to be pop or rock n roll? Or the one I don't get is the Eagles. Do you get in because you're influential or because you sold a lot of records?
If they don't start allowing genres that kinda descended from rock then they'll eventually run out of acts, b/c let's face it...rock hasn't been a huge influential force for a good while now. Are there any bands that have come out this century that are locks for HoF? BTW, I don't agree with Madonna being in there but when you have other older r&b acts it's gonna be hard to exclude alot of artists b/c they're not rock.
I'd say both when it comes to the Eagles. I'm not the biggest fan of the Eagles but they've sold alot of records and been pretty influential on alot of country artists and were pretty instrumental in the whole country rock movement of the 70s, and let's face it they do have some badass tunes.
I guess I can accept the Eagles in the HOF, I'm just always going to think of them this way:
