Obama disses Cardinal, embraces 20,000 strong Muslims

Let's take your moral relativism at face value. There are many people on here that would lose control of their bowels if the Republicans had any Christian group espousing a theocracy in America at their convention, so is there an outraged about this?

Obama disses Catholic Cardinal, embraces 20,000 strong Muslim Jumah

"Muslims also angry over GOP "Anti-Sharia" party plank..."

Considered by many to be the most powerful Catholic cleric in the United States, New York's Timothy Cardinal Dolan has already accepted the invitation by the Republican National Convention to deliver the Benediction next week at the GOP gathering in Florida.

The Cardinal "tipped off" the Democrats "a few weeks ago" to inform them he had accepted the Republican invitation, and was thusly offering the same to the Democrats.

As reported by The New York Post:

"President Obama turned down a chance to have Timothy Cardinal Dolan deliver a prayer at the Democratic National Convention after Dolan told Democrats he would be 'grateful' to deliver a blessing in Charlotte."

According to The Post, Cardinal Dolan spokesman Joseph Zwilling said during an interview:

"He wanted to make sure that they knew that this was not a partisan act on his part and that he would be just as happy and grateful to accept an invitation from the Democrats as he would to have received one from the Republicans."

According to Zwilling, "He has not been contacted by them” since."

Bill Donohue of the Catholic League stated:

"The Republicans are smart enough to get the 'pope of America,' and the Democrats are stupid enough not to invite him."

The DNC And 20,000 Muslims...

Reporter Bob Taylor of The Washington Times is reporting that the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, will feature a program called the "Jumah at the DNC."

The three-day Muslim prayer-fest is expected to draw an estimated 20,000 Muslims to the Dem convention site.

The WashTimes is also reporting that "Siraj Wahhaj, who will be the 'Grand Imam' for the gathering... and the co-leader of the Charlotte event, Jibril Hough, are both heavily involved in the separatist American Islamist movement."

As Taylor wrote:
"There are two forms of lying that are permitted in Islam under certain circumstances, taqiyya and kitman.

Such circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

Basically, taqiyya is lying by saying something that isn't true.

Charlotte’s jumah will be a prime example of taqiyya.

It will use the convention as cover for 'town hall' activities designed to create awareness of the victimization of Muslims and Islamophobia.

The Obama Administration's pandering to Muslims will add considerable strength to the gathering and its agenda."
Is The GOP Walking The Plank...?

Muslim organizations within the United States are also angered over what they view as "Islamophobia" from the Republicans, as reported by the Sacrament Bee.

As seen in the video, left, the GOP Platform Committee has accepted a so-called plank (official stance) against American courts accepting foreign law, as proffered by Kansas delegate, Kris Kobach:

"I'm not aware of any court that's actually accepted the argument, but in cases involving either spousal abuse or assault or other crimes against persons, sometimes defenses are raised that are based in Sharia Law.

We actually put a provision to this effect in Kansas statute this year and I think it's important to say that foreign sources of law should not be used as part of common law decisions or statutory interpretation by judges in the lower state courts as well."

  • Cardinal Dolan gave $20,000 to priests to "go away quietly" when it had been discovered that they had molested, raped and abused kids.

I would diss that pig, too.
Did you know that saying "Bill Donahoe of the Catholic League" is redundant? Bill Donahoe IS "the catholic league." there is no "league," it's just Bill Donahoe and his computer writing press releases and asking for donations. That's all he does. No activism, just self-promotion, press releases and fun-raising for himself.

As far as the "20,000" strong Muslims, I'm not even sure what that means. They're muscular? They stink? They're Strongly devoted Muslims? Jumah at the DNC is non-partisan, not part of the Democratic convention and is a cultural festival. The news stories calling it "Jihad" are dumb. Like anyone who be,Ives that crap.

Type of Event: This event is open to the public and no tickets/credentials are required.

Summary: BIMA is hosting an open air Jumah Congregational Prayer at the Democratic National Convention Friday, August 31st at Marshall Park, Charlotte, North Carolina. The Jumah Prayer will be followed by a number of other programs and events.

Description: The Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs, (BIMA) as a non-profit organization is designed to serve and facilitate the efforts of Islamic organizations and Institutions in their endeavors as well as spread awareness about Indigenous Muslim issues. BIMA’s purpose in rallying large numbers of Muslims to participate in this event, Jumah at the DNC, is to make the general public aware that the Muslim community is a healthy and vibrant component to the American society. This platform is non-partisan; meaning that it is not an endorsement of any political candidate or elected official. It is intended to address the concerns and issues that are challenging to the American Muslim citizens in the 21st century.

    ---

It's not espousing theocracy at all... that is a ridiculous claim... it's simply raising awareness about Muslims in America.

Cardinal Dolan on the other hand is very conservative and does espouse theocratic rule when he opposes same-sex marriage for no other reason than his religious belief that it's wrong... same with his belief that health plans shouldn't be required to provide contraception.

I hope that one day politicians will no longer pander to any religion, but let's not make something out of nothing... and let's please stop pandering to the fear of Muslims.

So let me get this right...a Muslim organization will be holding a prayer meeting at the Democratic National Convention...therefore Muslims are trying to take over America and impose Sharia law?
These same Muslims will also be using this opportunity to lie to the American people about Islamophobia and victimization, and to recruit unsuspecting non-Muslims into their evil religion?
And at the same time you criticize Obama and the Democrats for not inviting a Catholic cleric to speak at their convention.

Ariel, where do you get off on posting such hateful crap?

To be honest, I'm more concerned with discovering today that about 152,456,967 ants have invaded our storage shed. And I'm happy to say that I did not lose my bowels over it. Thank God. Or is it Allah? Ah shoot, now I can't remember- you know- the god of insect control.

I think that would be Kernunos, or the "Green Man" of many Pagan religions. I don't mean to start another "if you're green you're a hypocrite" thing since... well that dead horse has already been beat.

with all the jabber on here the bottom line has been over looked...Obama has just alienated himself from a large portian of the American people and fuel the fire of people that say he is a Muslim.
here is another E-mail I got from his camp that show his despration in this race.

    Godfather.

The answer to the President's question is "Hell no, it isn't the end!"

Our opponents want to close the book on the Obama White House and everything it represents -- all that we've built together and all the progress we'll continue to make together.

We can't let that happen. Donate $5 or more now:

    Friend --

It's August 23rd. And 75 days from now, I'll either be looking at another four years in the White House -- or the end of this opportunity.

I know what's at stake for the parents worrying about health care, the kids who need help to go to college, and the seniors who want a secure retirement.

But we're getting outspent by wide margins in critical battleground states -- and what we do about that today could be the difference between winning and losing on November 6th.

So as we near one of the last fundraising deadlines of this campaign, I'm asking you to pitch in $5 right now:

    Thanks for all you do,

    Barack

You are not "keeping us informed," your post is taken from a press release by an extreme right-wing group whose goal is to whip up fear of Muslims and paint the president as a foreigner and anti-Christian.

And like I say, your information is wrong and you just defended someone who financially rewarded men who fuck children in the process.

It should be pointed out that cardinal Dolan is being paid by the RNC, this proving that the RNC thinking fucking children is nifty.

First off GF, I never said u said he was Muslim. 2nd I could careless what or who Obama believes in. I was making a statement just like u and aerial or usamamasan. Do I think you hate Muslims, yes I really do believe that. But I also def believe usamamasan and ariel do to. I got news for you guys, ALL presidents have these national prayer days. Even your buddy W had them. So now we've gone from the country of freedom of religion and religious beliefs to shitting on "other" religions.
And on my sarcasm, hahahaha, its one of the ways that helps me deal with all this negative bullshit sterotypeing! Look, I'm a MUSLIM! Do I practice it religiously? No, never fasted never been to Mecca. I dnt even pray. But I tell u what, I know more than most people on this forum about the religion. Let me give all a little bit of Muslim knowledge. It Is taught to us that ANYONE who kills another human being, wether Muslim, Jewish, Christian atheist whatever, will be punished by god as if they killed all of humanity. So when people say this Muslim went into a mosque and blew himself up, NOT A MUSLIM. When people say Obama is a Muslim, I litterly laugh my ass off. If he truly was Muslim, he would've gotten out of Iraq and Afghanistan, demanded that Israel return the land BACK to the palestinians, demanded a return of the gholan heights to Syria and arrested W and all his cronies. But hey, fear sells and seems like these days in America, FEAR IS YOUR ONLY GOD. So, keep bashing the muslims, keep spreading fear and hate. It makes for great entertainment.

The only candidate/party who would ever get my vote is the one who demonstrates that there is a separation between church and state. The current political climate makes the founding fathers look like real geniuses. They knew what politicians have now forgotten. I really hate religious wars. Ok, that was personal.

Some nasty comments in this thread and it's not likely to get better so it's closed.

I hope this will be a good week in AMT. Brilliant thoughtful discussion about real issues.
