Neil Young Hint from 9/11/11 Show

I was at the 9/11 show last year in Toronto. I was listening to the boot yesterday and heard something I missed at the show. During the opener Long Road Eddie sings "Neil walks the long road" at the end of the song. It sounds a lot like "We all walk the the long road" but you can clearly hears the "s" at the end of walk which he had to sing to make it proper since he was referring to one person instead of many. Anyone else catch this hint? Neil played RITFW with them at the end. I thought that was a pretty cool hint to start the show.

  • He definitely says "Neil walks the Long Road" I first thought that maybe he adds that line to the song once in a while, but it may have been a hint. EV looked pretty surprised when Neil came out on stage, I guess he is the only one who really knows

I was at the show as well, had a great time, and I still listen to the boot all the time. Can't wait for their return. :D

    I was there.... Great show!

Prior to them playing Setting Forth, Ed talks about the PJ20 book and movie and says that if it were about Neil then it would be NY50. I thought he'd come out right then for sure. Seemed like another hint, though Ed did look genuinely surprised when he did finally come out.
  • i still believe neil was a total surprise to eddie when he came out

of course ed knew it was a possibility that he might show up(neil was in town for the film fest) but i don't think it was preplanned...mostly because they did a scramble to get mike a guitar after neil took mike's axe

one of the best PJ moments ever for me. certainly close to toledo(vfc)

jeff jamming with neil at this toronto show is incredible. jeff's grin is so damn perfect++

so glad ed/pj picked to play ritfw instead of fucking up for this show

ritfw is as good as good gets
