I have a Fender Blacktop Telecaster that i bought 6 months ago on an impulse buy. She was a FSR Blacktop that came with a Gotoh type humbucker plate. The kicker and main reason i picked her up was that she came in Seafoam Pearl Green. Very solid, smooth chunky neck, and i thought, well after all, if i want to swith the bridge back to a single coil it wouldn't be a big deal. Now this is where, as im sure you all know, that my life turned to misery. Telecaster bridges at the widest are 3.25", and the humbucker bridge that covers the route is 3.75". Everyone i asked said i was screwed, they dont make a bridge wide enough to cover the humbucker route. Well my friends im here to tell you after a 4 day search, that someone does make a single coil Telecaster bridge specificly for the problem of covering up a bridge humbucker route. Texas Custom Guitars makes a really modern/retro bridge called the Smooth Play. There beefy, but they will do the job that couldnt be done before. Im ordering mine tonight. keep ya posted
