Would you pay Billy Corgan $400 to play 3 songs for you?

that's what he's charging for his VIP package on the Oceania tour. You get backstage, a 3 song performance of songs not being played that night, a limited edition signed poster, laminated pass, the new cd (come on, if you are buying this, you probably have the cd already).

If I wasn't married, I'd buy it.

  • I'd pay Eddie $5000 to play one song for me (probably at my wedding, if I were to ever find a lucky gal;))

Doesn't sound like a bad deal if you're into all the other stuff. Kinda depends on the nature of the performance. For that kinda money I'd want full band in a small room backstage.

If he was about to play three songs for me and there was nothing else I could do (like put him in a submission hold), I'd pay him that $400 to stop.
  • if i say i'd pay 400 to have him killed - will i get in trouble? because i dont want to say I WOULD PAY $400 TO HAVE BILLY CORGAN KILLED if i am going to get in trouble for it.

Seriously though - why does he still exist?
  • I knew this thread would bring out the Billy haters.

Seriously, some bands charge this much just for their premium seats, never mind a performance and Q&A backstage too boot.

If you are a Pumpkins fan, this is a killer opportunity.

huge huge huge Pumpkins/Corgan fan from 93-Zwan. I just think he's beyond awful and embarassing now. He's the exact person that he always complains about in interviews. Had he quit music after Zwan he'd have a great respectable legacy. Now I wouldn't even see him for free if he was playing down the street.

I would do this deal for 2 or 3 bands though provided there were limited $400 tickets (otherwise you're just at another show)

so you don't like the music from Zwan on, or you don't like him?

I just saw that he is doing an arena tour in Canada....seems a bit ambitious!
  • I would imagine this being very awkward. I imagine a doctors office style setup where everyone who bought the package are in little offices. Billy walks up, knocks on the door, and introduces himself as Mr Corgan. He then proceeds to check your vitals, sings Tonight Tonight, and signs your picture. And then moves on to the next patient...awkward..

    it's not a one-on-one private show. it's a private show for probably 50-100 people.

I agree. The thing is some of the biggest douche musicians are some of the most incredibly talented musicians. It just so happens that the members of PJ are great people, that's a bonus but alot of them let it go to their head. Still doesn't stop me liking their music.

If this had happened 10 years ago, I would've bought one of this without any hesitation.

Not a very big fan of his live shows or his musical output these days, but I do think it's a very nice opportunity for fans.

You can pay $100 to see Chad Stokes (of State Radio/Dispatch) do the same thing back stage with free beer and wine and other "gifts" and all the money goes to his CAC charity. Now this is something I will do.
