park: here now

end of august
huge blood orange ball
bigger than the city
drowsily dropping down
behind the black waves
twilight rhythmic abyss
hypnotic end of day
with silent sigh chants

unfortunate black dog
finally finds his way
out of a sea of pain
a new life, a new love
his fur petted properly
by a girl with messy hair
holding an orange ball
saying its okay, lay down

a group of burkas
gathered together
short rulers for eyes
making the kids happy
with orange sections
clothed Burghers of Calais
a solid black mass
held by the new light
