The soundtrack of my life (at least so far)

A few years ago, while talking to a friend, this question came up.

What songs would be in our lifes' soundtrack?

We came up with some ground rules, we had to limit the list to 25 songs with a possible extra of 5 that would be defined as bonustracks. The main idea is to look back and just list the songs that mean the most to you, that remind you of those good or bad moments. Haven't you sometimes thought "wow this song fits perfectly with this or that moment"? Great. Now remember that and make your own list.

Here is mine:

PINK FLOYD - WISH YOU WERE HERE
MARILLION - PSEUDO SILK KIMONO
MARILLION - KAYLEIGH
MARILLION - LAVENDER
PEARL JAM - BLACK
BEATLES - HELP
GENESIS - MUSICAL BOX
GENESIS - DANCING WITH THE MOONLIT KNIGHT
DEEP PURPLE - CHILD IN TIME
EMERSON, LAKE AND PALMER - LUCKY MAN
TOTO - AFRICA
MARIAH CAREY - VANISHING
PEARL JAM - NOTHINGMAN
MARIAH CAREY - LOOKING IN
BOB MARLEY - KAYA
BOB MARLEY - IS THIS LOVE
BLACK SABBATH - SOLITUDE
BEATLES - SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
BEATLES - LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL - BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER
SIMON AND GARFUNKEL - THE BOXER
OASIS - WONDERWALL
LIMP BIZKIT - COUNTERFEIT
PRODIGY - VOODOO PEOPLE
LINKIN PARK - IN THE END

5 BONUSTRACKS:
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND
CHRISTINA AGUILERA - HURT
SMASHING PUMPKINS - TONIGHT TONIGHT
PEARL JAM - RELEASE
PINK - WHO KNEW

I am 30 years old so I have a few years to fill but most of these songs are from my first 2 decades, mainly related to my father, the memories I have of him and the pain of losing him.
Some are related to my rage years, when I was angry with the world. Others are just from the heart and would be the perfect setting for a few good moments and some bad but learnable situations.

Please share your soundtrack, I would love to see what makes you tic. :)

That kinda depends on how you look at it. Some of these depressing songs actually make me smile because they remind me of a time... a good time. Yeah I've had some very depressing years but, well.. you always learn something.

  • Meant it as a joke.
    Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I like a lot of those mellow songs.

I like this idea of compiling a soundtrack.
It would take me a long time to narrow it down though.
