Champagne Breakfast

I was there though I was not supposed to be.
Was away at college in the middle of preseason football camp and told my coaches months prior when I found out about the shows that I was in my cousins wedding across the country and had to leave camp for 3 days. It worked like charm and I went home to go to the Jones Beach shows with my cousin. I grew a beard and wore a fedora so nobody would recognize me while I was home. There was no way PJ was playing in my backyard and I wasn't gonna be there!

Parents drove me up to college the next day. As soon as mom hugged me goodbye I started planning how to get back home to see the 3rd night. Took a bus home in the middle of the night, stayed at a buddys house and cabbed it to jones beach. Tried to scalp tix, got FUCKED and ended up listening from outside which was ok b/c the sound was fine and I met two like-minded pearl jam fans that really helped me out by giving me a ride back when I was penniless.

Pearl Jam, you are the best and so are your fans. Thank you.

I was there!
My first concert ever,
went on to see 28 pearl jam shows and countless other concerts.

I slept out in the car poarked in the weeds somewhere over near the loop.

The park Rangers wouldnt let us in until sunrise.

We were amongst the first in for line up,
when we got in there were aready camps hitched up tents against the fence-
such crooked bastards out there !

I was still able to score whatever tickets I wanted
& Made it to all 3 shows fortunately .

Plus wr got Sonic Youth opening,
and one of the coolest posters ever.

I was there great three nights, back then you could enjoy a beer inside the place does everyone remember that they had the video screens working for the 1st night and not for the last two shows ....

Yeah and i later found out that someone in the band was not happy that fans up front would look at the screens so they asked for them to be turned off ...
