When do you think it will begin? How?
Here's a new demo called "in the fire":

Good call. I also think we're in a depression right now. But, we don't say it now - history will. I guess the question is - when will it become evident to everyone in the present?

I get you, but I think it will if stakes for them decrease substantially, a scenario like a near-complete collapse of the dollar. Politicians get desperate. And if we're getting desperate here, the world at large will be too.

Exactly what's wrong with the US.

That was funny
Our contributions to WWI were even smaller. Our entrance into WWI 3 years after it started was basically a psychological blow to Germany and persuaded their soldiers to mutiny more than the Allied soldiers. US soldiers had little tactical impact on The Great War.
I'm not trying to deface the contributions and the 400,000 or so Americans who were killed in those wars, but this was a small fraction of the costs suffered by other countries. Of course, I wouldn't want to tell that to a Marine who was on Iwo Jima.
Also, what we've had going on since 2001 totally pales in comparison to the hell that was WWI & WWII. I'd suggest reading up on it a little more.
Don't fuck with me on history.

No bragging about power. That's what's wrong.

Which is Great, it's the bragging that make people want to kill you.
here in the "United States of Ammunition" when WWIII does start all the anti gun folks will be glad to get to know the gun toten redneck down the street with the paranoid supply closet filled with guns and ammo..
Godfather.
Well he is my favorite character from The Walking Dead
Yeah, good point, especially since I have to worry about all those South Philly invasions. I am pretty certain if I die as a result of a World War, it will be in a massive explosion and not something a gun could have prevented.
Agreed. I don't own a gun, but I do think a gun could come in useful in an economic state like in Greece or worse, however. When the economy collapses, a gun would probably be a useful form of protection because fraud, abuse, theft, etc. would rapidly increase and the police force's power would rapidly diminish.
To me - if WWIII is confirmed, it will happen well after a confirmed depression just like the last two. So, I think the above would happen first.

Aren't there supposed to be three guns for every person whereas there is probably one crossbow for every 10,000?
I blame the Hunger Games and dumb producers.
If there was a Zombie Apocolypse, America would probably be the safest place on the planet, but ya know, that makes for boring t.v.
I don't remember learning anything about a depression before WWI, but maybe you could direct me to this info.

The term depression was used loosely up until the Great Depression. Sometimes it was used in place of panic, sometimes it was used in place of recessions, which also just meant lesser depression. There was and still is no formal definition for Depression. There were plenty of economic downturns, and debt scenarios, that preceded WWI in the US. And there were more in the EU, which was the trigger zone. I would say the Long Depression played a part, but the data says it was 10+ years prior.
In my opinion, another trigger was the creation of the Federal Reserve locally and more centralized banking in early 1900s. US was gaining power at the time so our system did play a part in trade. We have to know for sure data back then was miniscule and rough if useful at all, so a lot of what we deem as catalysts are simply guesses based on limited and terrible data.

When the Soviet Union puts their nukes in Cuba.
Total annihilation
A slow corrosive grinding up of civilization
Enlightenment
I always prefer to go with the long shot or, as Vaclav Havel put it, having the kind of hope that means doing what makes sense no matter what the outcome.

After all, they're the ones who've given us the Kardashians and that godawful Honey Poopoo kid (ok, I blame the mother more for that last one )
Except Americans know nothing about peace, or freedom for that matter. They're just words, like 'God', that you use to paint over a reality that's the complete opposite of what these words represent.

I can think of lot's places I'd rather live than America. But each to their own.
