103 miles/166 kilometers. they say it's roughly a 60 hour swim. i hope she does it this time. she is awesome. she started out saturday the 18th. she is in jellyfish & shark filled waters and so far has been stung four times or more by Flower hat jellies & the deadly Box jellies. for the sharks they use a device that creates an electrical field that is supposed to keep sharks at bay.

been at it over 40 hours. been blown off course due to storm. currently on course and swimming strong. this woman is one tough customer. most people can't even swim 1 single hour worth of laps at the pool. i love this gal somethin fierce.

60 hrs? i think she's gonna be swimming a lot longer than 60 hrs. seems that storm really jammed her up somewhat.

she is unreal. it isn't like she can't swim 103 miles/166 kilometers without stopping. in the 70's she swam from the bahamas to jupiter, florida which is a world record 102.5 miles; the world's longest ocean swim

That is awesome! I have dreams of kayaking from West Palm Beach to the Bahamas. I never thought it was reasonable to try, but this lady makes a good case!

same here. i do 1 or 1.5 or 2 mile swims everyday but sunday's & some saturday's . (pools closed on sunday during summer months) last time i swam 3 miles i felt sick. a 2 mile swim gives me that runner's high thing. it kinda sucks. so i figured something out. swim two different times a day. morning swim & evening swim. taadaaa 3 miles and im not dizzy. vertigo feeling stuff kicks my ass with all that head movement coming up for air back and forth motion.

i always wanted to swim english channel. water there is cold as shit. they recommend swimming in 50 degree water and doing that for 24 hrs at a time :|

she didn't make it. but this woman is incredible. she was stung by box jellyfish nine times. in darkness shark experts worked hard at keeping the circling sharks away. two storms made this swim impossible. she made it further than ever before. i bet she is frickin irritated. hats off to Diana

weird how news and people report it. Susie Maroney from Australia swam cuba to florida yet Diana Nyad's people and whomever else in the media report it's never been swam before. then the reports that Diana has swam in the sea further than anyone which is also a tall tale. i believe these false story tellers work for fox news. godfather, what do you have to say about this controversy?

I agree...they leave certain pertinent info out of news stories...that's courageous without a shark cage...Kudos to her at 63 for attempting this and kudos to anyone who attempts this feat cage or no cage.
