I want to try and get into John Doe.

Where should I start?

    I'd start by listening to the first 4 albums by X...this shows his roots as a punk artist.

    I'd then give a listen to The Knitters, which was an X side-project.

    His latest solo album is a great listen!

    BTW, X is performing their first album, "Los Angeles" at the Roxy in L.A. tonight. Ray Manzerek (The Doors) produced the album, and he will be playing keyboards with them tonight!
