Just a little reminder of our humanity as this place seemingly became pretty inhospitable this week. Lot's of heated exchanges.

the shit we argue about, the way we handle each other...it all seems silly after I see something like this...

thoughts and prayers is all I can say about it.

I can't listen to it from work, but seems touching based on most of the comments posted there.

And you're right, Mike. I mean, it's not like many of the issues argued/discussed/debated here are necessarily insignificant, but sometimes it's beyond beneficial to get perspective...put the personal shit and barbs toward others aside.

oh man that is hard to watch
it has got to be the scariest thing to deal with ever

    is there anything else?
    is this it?
    is there anything out there
or is it just lights out?
oh man, my heart goes out to eric and his family.

I couldn't watch it all, too difficult to bear.

I hate to just expose myself, but I barely survived a car accident, almost didn't make it in surgery. So I do know how fragile and good life is, because when I woke up I sensed that I almost didn't make it. It was almost as if I knew. I come here to learn about other viewpoints, add a different perspective to topics, argue (because I do enjoy it sometimes), and to keep up on current events. I'm not scared of death anymore, I've dealt with it all of being so near, and it's not as scary as I once thought. If anything, I believe that your spirit carries on. There's a lot I would tell that guy and he sure does need a hug. :(

Things definitely aren't bad in our lives, life really is a gift. If at the end of the day, we remember that we're brought together here for a reason rather than focus on what separates us, we wouldn't be so miserable. Sometimes I may sound miserable, but I'm really not. I don't let anything really get me down anymore, especially ridiculous political arguments and fights. The Thread Wars thread, at least when it's on track, has a lot of insight to if we'd really be there for each other in the end.

Well said Jeanwah, well said....I can feel how your words come deep from within you based on your near death experience. I myself have had a couple close calls and I was at peace with death after what i went through.

Thanks, mikepegg. That video really is a reality check.

The timing too. After the revamping of the PJ site until a few weeks ago I was, thinking "Cool, AMT is a much better place lately. Not so much hostility." Well that certainly has changed again. Why? What the hell? Do we all really hate each other? What the fuck is wrong with us? Why is this happening?
