Been trying to get my hands on some ever since our trip to WI last fall. They don't sell it outside of the state.

How can I get hooked up? I'm in a suburb of DC/Baltimore.

Love Spotted Cow, if you get a chance try the Fat Squirrel as well. I can't wait to be home in WI drinking a few Spotted Cows (and some whiskey) come December :D

A great beer. I'm lucky enough that it is served in every bar here and sold in every liquor store. A damn shame it isn't sold outside the state but I guess the owner doesn't want to sell it outside WI.

Yep there was a short period of time where you could get it in IL. I can't remember why they stopped or what's holding them back now, but there's talk of it coming back again. The sooner the better dammit!

    Love me some Spotted Cow.

I think my favorite beer in cheese land is Summit Extra Pale Ale.

  • The brewery isn't big enough to make the amount that is wanted outside the state. My brothers beer company in Chicago call them almost every week. Always the same answer. The only new glarus :D beer I like is cabin fever. It's a cool little town if you want to visit.

stopped at the beer place in milwaukee...

was going to get a 6 pack, but based on ALL the "great" reviews here, i ended up with a 12 pack. i wish i would have stuck with the 6 pack. :fp: i believe i used the term budweiser to describe it. :fp:

the problem with spotted cow is the use of corn. corn is for making distilled booze, not for brewing beer. makes it way too sweet.

don't corn the beer, don't fruit the beer, stay true to your beer and only add the four basic ingredients.

down to a couple of these crap things. :?

I agree mostly - except for DFH Fort. A nice 18% ABV and it's made with boatloads of raspberries. Although the last time I had it I blacked out, so I should probably stay away from it

The Cow was a novelty when I first moved to WI, now I can't stand it. It is way too sweet. New Glarus does make some other tasty brews, and they have a beautiful brewing facility.

Like Odell in CO and Surly in MN, I don't think New Glarus has any desire to ship outside the state. They brew enough to distribute in the border states, and in interviews I have read, they just don't have the desire.
