How do AVI (Divx) files look on HD TVs?

I've had some people tell me that they look like crap on a large screen. I'm looking at getting something around 46-47 inch. How will they look on a HD TV? They look great on my old 32 inch tube TV.

Thanks

it actually has nothing to do with the tv, but the quality of the file itself. A great quallity file will be in HD and a low quality file will be a low quality video. You can't tell if your still using a tube tv, because the highest output you can get is 480. but if you think the quality your getting now is great you have nothing to worry about haha.

In short i have a 46, great quality, just watch the file your playing for its resolution, but you can't get lower than tube quality so your golden :)
