I saw Beady Eye performing on the closing ceremonies of the olympics last night. And what song do they play? Wonderwall, written entirely by Noel.

Thoughts?

Liam said that Noel playing oasis in his sets was embarrassing or something like that..

Oasis, self-proclaimed best band in the 90's, better than the Beatles.

Sounded like a karaoke singer at the Olympic ceremony....awful.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

Liam's vocal was shocking last night  (and I am a huge Oasis fan!). I think his voice is basically shot to pieces.

Other than touring commitments (which surely could have been worked around??) I don't understand why Noel wasn't asked to do the gig?

I am off to seeing Noel's High Flying Bird's early September in Bournemouth so will report back on his version of Wonderwall then! :D
  • Saw Oasis support REM in 1995 at Slane in Ireland. Great show and good memories of when their first album came out.

IMO after that they became wholly irrelevant. Their first record wasn't bad but technically it never amounted to much.

Noel has a little more musical credibility, but not too much mind!

Liam said Noel playing oasis in his sets was embarassing? are you sure you have that right? that wouldn't make much sense, since Noel wrote nearly everything and Liam was just the voice.

although, this is Liam we're talking about, so I guess it's possible.

if you mean by needing someone to sing your songs, then yes this is true. Noone could/can touch Roger during his glory days.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?
