Thoughts?
He;s often considered one of the greatest lyricists of all time, but it often seems like he's simotaneously underrated, because if you were to discuss with someone who they thought was the greatest songwriter ever, i dont think his name would necessarily come up.
Some of his lyrics to me are pretty unreal. Astral weeks, the song, those lyrics are mindblowing. Would you kiss-a-my eyes.
Plus that voice. Something about his voice. Its calming yet shocking at the same time.
I find his personality interesting as well. Seems alot like Dylan, he just flat out doesnt care about pleasing anyone, fans, critics, anyone. He just makes music, and if you dont like it, or even if you like it, he doesnt give a damn.

I'm a huge Van Morrison fan, although I've never seen him live. I hear he's temper-mental too. For instance, if his band fucks up any of his songs, he walks off the stage and refuses to return to finish the show. Can't remember where I read that, so for all I know, could be just a rumor.
Nonetheless, he's the MAN and I am very thankful to have his music to accompany me through this life. I could listen to Astral Weeks (the album) all day.......It's nice to be nice to the nice.0 -
