This is set 1 only - NO ENCORES in this video file (sorry)

It's big: 1.75GB, but that's due to it being broadcast quality made directly from digital TV recording, which is roughly 4MB/s. No compression here kids :D

http://groovy.serveftp.com:6969/torrent.html?info_hash=7e7861efd36fcb346533681a8cb410bc8be6768b

I'm only able to upload at around 16KB/s, so it will take a while.
Share the link, please stay seeding once leeched. Thanks

  • Duggro you really are a sport. Were you going to put the uncompressed version up aswell as your divx one?

I was worried you might get offended that the uncompressed version is now going up when you've spent so much time getting your version up. Your version is great cos it takes up less room and is great for the pc but the uncompressed version can go onto a dvd. woop!

Thanks for offering to upload the encore in uncompressed format.

All we need now then is the 2nd encore which I doubt the bbc will ever show...have you seen what they've had on repeat on bbci (ch 301) since monday morning? It's pathetic. 1 song from about 5 bands spanning the weekend.

We need to get a better quality upload of the webcast stream...as I said in my other post the one floating around this board is 291kpbs and it can go to at least 654kbps according to my connection!

  • I know of two people who have the 1st encore. I will get in touch.

groovyf if one of these two are able to can they uload the torrent to your ftp server?

    Certainly.

2 ways we can do this:
I can create a temp FTP account so they can upload the video file, that I can then make a .torrent file from and add to the server as a download...
    or
I can create an account on the torrent server so they can upload the .torrent file themselves, but means they have to seed the file from their PC

    Let me know what's best.

  • There is a link to a torrent in Duggro's 'Reading Show Upload' thread (http://www.mininova.org/tor/408929) and then there is the one in this thread. I noticed that there is a difference in the size of the file. Which is the better option to download? Also, I downloaded utorrent and was wondering what the difference between the numbers inside and outside the brackets for seeds and peers are?

Sorry, I'm not the most computer saavy person.

Thanks to all who have put so much effort into providing the rest of us with such an amazing performance. You're all tops!

i use bittornado so i can't help you with the utorrent question but the difference between the two torrents is that the one in this thread is completely uncompressed while the other one is slightly compressed which is what gives it the smaller file size but takes away from the quality some what. basically to describe it well would be like comparing flac to mp3. you can't go wrong with either of them. it all depends on your preference and how much space you have on your comp. the one in this thread is more suitable to be burned to dvd. if your just planning on watching on the comp go with the other one. again can't go wrong with either. our fellow members of the pearl jam community have done an amazing job with all there work on these.

Numbers inside the brackets are the total number of seeds and peers currently connected for the file. This is known as a swarm. Numbers outside the brackets are the amount of seeds and peers that you are connected to at that time. Usually the ones you cannot connect to have a firewall blocking the connection with them or you have a firewall blocking the connection. To find out more visit http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/23.html

  • the torrent on mininova is pretty good but it was recorded in widescreen but compressed to regular 4:3 so its weird looking, hopefully this one isn't like that

Not at all. Broadcasted in WS, and it's just a straight mpeg of that. Not touched aspect ratio :)

I'd also like to add that I apologise if it's taking a long time for you to get this (and maybe for some almost as though it's stopped).
I realise now I should have used a torrent client that supported super-seeding which would have got some of you to a 'seed' status quicker.

    Next time :)

    Daren't swap clients now mid-upload :D

By tomorrow there will be a ton of people who have the complete download. There's about 10 people or so who are the maximum way through it (about 77.6% as I write this).

Go grab the BitTorrent client here: http://www.download.com/BitTorrent/3000-2196-10211384.html?part=dl-BitTorrent&subj=dl&tag=button

Install, then click on the .torrent link in my first post on page 1. BitTorrent should automatically open and start downloading for you.

Bear in mind it's a 'sharing' system where you upload as well as download data. The correct etiquette is to stay connected and share once you've download the whole file (most tend to upload at least as much as they download)

Just keep your bittorrent client open. Easy as that :)

    Good number now at 100% : http://groovy.serveftp.com:6969/stats.html?info_hash=7e7861efd36fcb346533681a8cb410bc8be6768b

Groovyf this is glorious stuff, great to see that there's other Jammers out there wanting only the very best quality... this'll make one great DVD when we get hold of the BBCi broadcast of the 1st encore. How did you capture this? DVB-S/T PCI card?

I feel the same, I want stuff in the highest quality I can, and am willing to wait for it (to download usually :D )

It was recorded on my Topfield 5800 PVR - freeview hdd recorder. Luckily it has a USB port on it for transferring recorded files to PC. A quick bit of program jiggery-pokery and you have a PC or DVD compatible video file.
