Oh yeah, I didn't go because all I had heard at the time was No Rain 47 times a day. Can't believe Shannon played in my city and I missed it! Hindsight......

I saw them once in Glasgow, the drugs were taking Shannon's soul by then and he was so wasted he could hardly stand. It was equal measures of awe and deep sadness,I was gutted to see him that way.
I remember really clearly he was dressed all in white with bare feet,he looked so beautiful, like an angel. The band tried really hard to hold the set together but he ended up sitting on the edge of the stage, mumbling into the mike.It was evident how much this was cutting the band's emotions apart.I cried at that gig and never saw them again.

I was lucky enough to see them twice. Once at the Masquerade in Atlanta headlining their own show in 92 right before No Rain exploded and once in 93 opening for Neil Young. Both were great shows, before the drugs had really taken hold. The first time I saw them I met Shannon outside after the show loading up their gear and snatched a poster off the wall and got him to autograph it.

like I said, I hated them when they first came out. I heard No Rain constantly and didn't bother checking out the rest of the record. Plus, I was still sort of in my metal phase at that time, and seeing that video didn't help my opinion of them at the time.

Saw them with Travis Warren a few years ago and it was killer.

  • I just read that they opened for the Stones in 1994 on the Voodoo Lounge tour. I did not know that but that's pretty cool of the Stones to do

  • Crazy that this thread is going around. It is the 2nd Friday in August... the 18 year anniversary of when I saw BM at Woodstock '94. Ok... Shannon was not exactly sober, but their show was the most surprising of all the acts . I thought they were VERY entertaining. HArd to say it was a clean performance :lol::lol: , but I enjoyed myself during their set.

Can't believe its been that long.
