or ACL Live or Erwin center in Austin.
My appendix burst during an AC/DC show at the Erwin center. I'd love to go back there, one less part I have to drag with me.
Holy shit! They've improved it a lot the last few years. I saw The Wall tour and The Black Keys there this year and they sounded great. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0 -

It is an amazing venue! I was lucky enough to see them in '95 there. I would love the chance to see them again at Red Rocks. Hopefully we will grab a beer next year at the show0 -

Anywhere in the fucking S.F. Bay Area where being in the 10 Club actually makes a difference...I've been a member since '95, and in the 17 years there have been exactly TWO (2) concerts - Shoreline, Oct. '00 and Shoreline, June '03 - for which being in the 10C actually helped to get seats.
'96 - no U.S. dates (other than Seattle, which I went up for, but was GA)
'98 - closest show Sacramento, which I went to, but also GA
'00 - yes, but only one show
'03 - yes, but only one show
'06 - three great shows in S.F., but all were GA, and apparently too much trouble to cordon off a section for 10C
'09 - only appearance was Outside Lands festival, also GA, and no 10C involvement
And all the other tours in the past decade ('04 VFC, fall '05, summer '08 and spring '10) have ALL also magically passed us by, though Northeasterners always seem to get some shows. It's ridiculous.
Yes, we "get" Bridge School shows, but again, no 10C, and thus never good seats (as anyone trying to buy tickets through TM well knows), and of course, 30 minutes acoustic doesn't quite compare to full show.
Sorry for the whine, but I'm really getting sick of it...so to answer the actual question, I'll fantasize and say at LEAST two shows at, in order of preference:
1) Greek Theatre, Berkeley (where I saw them on Halloween '93 - epic)
2) Concord Pavillion, Concord (outdoors, small, old-school shed near my home)
3) Shoreline (far away, but I always prefer being outside)
4) Pac Bell Park, San Francisco
5) Oakland Coliseum
6) Fox Theater, Oakland
7) Paramount Theater, Oakland
8) Warfield Theater, S.F.
8) Fillmore, S.F.
9) Great American Music Hall, S.F.
10) The Independent, S.F.
11) Slim's, S.F.
12) New Parish, Oakland
13) Oakland Arena
14) San Jose Arena
Extremely unlikely they'd ever play 6-12, given their small capacities, but a guy can dream, no? Ed did play the Paramount last time through solo, and P.J. has played the Warfield (early '92) and slim's (summer '93), so at least they know about them.
Okay, back to work...0 -

Santa Barbara County Bowl (4,600 seater...80 miles north of L.A., and most of the drive has an ocean view! - they have done some amazing shows there!)

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
