Issue with Trade with Happy Julio

Everyone,

I hate to do this to a fellow Jammer but I am completely at a loss. Happy Julio and I set up a trade on July 13, 2012. We were going to straight up trade his Avocado vinyl for my PJ20 Klausen poster. I looked him up on the forum and saw he was on the A+ traders list and I never had any problems with anyone else in here so I pulled the trigger on the deal. I sent him my poster the same day. He received my poster on July 17, 2012. In a PM he told me he sent out my vinyl that day. I sent him another PM on July 23, 2012 saying I still hadn't received it and asking him how he mailed it. He says he mailed it media mail, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt again. Now here I am three weeks after the deal was agreed to with no vinyl. I have written him three messages since then and he hasn't replied to them. I talked to the Post Office and they said they can do an internal tracking thing on it if he has his receipt, but as I said I can't get ahold of him.

I do not want to bad mouth him because it is possible, it could be a mail issue, but I just wanted to make other traders aware of what happened. I will update this thread if he responds or if I get the vinyl, but I think I just might have lost a PJ20 klausen poster...and my innocence about trading.

Anyway...if anyone knows him or knows any other way to handle the situation, please let me know.

I got a reply from Happy Julio today. So we will see if everything works out. I will keep this updated as soon as the situation resolves itself.

  • hopefully you got more than a reply. I would ask for phone number & email address at this point. hope it works out for you. media mail is the worst though and the slowest/cheapest

it is slow and cheaper, but supposedly they dont go through the machines for processing, thats why it takes longer. Good trade off i'd say, slower shipment but record arrives not-smashed (most of the time) :D

maybe Julio sent it media and it is in fact taking forever - but a tracking number would solve a lot

OP: I looked up Happy Julio when I first saw your post and haven't had a chance to post... when you posted your original message, he hadn't logged in since July 24 so perhaps he had some shit going on... just a thought. Glad he's gotten in touch with you since.

And to my knowledge, Media Mail doesn't allow you to get tracking...and it can take forever, good luck!
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!

Happy Julio sent back my poster. It wasn't a sucessful trade since I never got the vinyl, but I didn't get screwed over either. All in all, I don't know exactly what happened, but Happy Julio made it right.

glad to see a happy ending at least
  • Hey peeps,

Just wanted to chime in that I fumbled the ball. I was making the trade while moving across town and I wasn't nearly as prompt as I should have been.

WKeng - Glad to know you got the poster back in good shape. My apologies again.
