Bayleaf
I recently found Stone Gossard's Bayleaf in a record store. It was relatively cheap and I knew the only place to get it would be here or Amazon, so I pulled the trigger. This album is absolutely fantastic, which shouldn't be a surprise considering Stone is such a talented dude (to say the least). I was just wondering why there isn't as much buzz about this album compared to the rest of PJ's stuff or as a good stand alone album. Thoughts?

Personally I love the album. I will be honest and say I am not cracked into Stone's voice. But he really got it right on this record. Must be like 10 years old now. I havent listened to it in ages so thanks for the mind bump. I couldnt even list the tracks out in my head. Gonna play it later.

I got his before PJ20 last year, and I wished Pearl Jam would cover "Pigeon." I don't think every song is great, but pretty close. After reading a bunch of reviews on it, I wasn't too excited about Stone's voice, but actually didn't find anything wrong with it. I don't have all of the side project stuff, but for what I do have I'd rank this at the top.0

Absolutely love it! I bought it last year, though I have been listening to its mp3 download for many years now. I purchased it from play.com and they sent me a re-release edition CD. :x That means, no booklet and no cover art on the CD. I wish I could find the original album somewhere in Greece. I own at least one original album (CD or bought mp3) from every side project. Even Hater! You must give a listen to them too. You're going to love it.
Back to Bayleaf now. My favoutire songs from the album are Pigeon and Unhand Me.

Got this when it first came out when I was just buying anything the guys did as side projects. I'm not a huge fan of this album. It has its moments but I find that I rarely listen to it.0

There's an unreleased Stone tune on the debut album by The Little Ships (w/Regan Hagar and Ty Willman) that was originally from the Bayleaf recording sessions. www.thelittleships.com0
