Even Bigger Galaxy Note Set to Launch August 29th

Samsung's updated Galaxy Note is on the way, with Samsung confirming that its Galaxy Note 2 is scheduled to be the star of its showing at this year's IFA trade show.

As we saw with the amazing amount of fuss generated by the Galaxy S III announcement, Samsung's not actually calling the phone the Galaxy Note 2 yet, instead referring to it as just the "next Galaxy Note". The news comes from Reuters, which quotes a Samsung employee saying: "We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29."

Specs are a little thin on the ground at the moment, with only some previous speculation regarding the screen size out there, which claims the new Note will be a little larger that the first one. Yes, you read that right. Larger. Rumors suggest it will come with a 5.5″ display running at an impressive 1680×1050 resolution. My arm feels tired just thinking about it.     My friend got a new phone. then the next time I saw him he had another new what. You know what he told me?

    "I couldn't reach the entire screen with my thumb while hoilding it in 1 hand, so i got a new one."

    Seriously?! First World Problems man... deal with it..


    Personally, I have a dumb phone, and will have a dumbphone for aleast another 1 year 10 months. And Im glad.

    Me? nope. I got some cheap sliding thing fom verizon. I don't need to pay all that extra money for data when i will be in wifi range 75% of the time. I have an ipod touch with tones of music and obviously internet access.

    My other big rant about smart phone.... How much time my friends spend on them when we are hanging out. They would rather browse facebook or play that angman game instead of talking and being social. Numerous occasions there will be me plus 7 ppl. Everyone except for me will be buried into there phone. Freaking annoying and disrespectful as hell. Live life through your eyes, not your devices....

    I've still never even owned a cell phone let alone some device advertising itself as "smart" which on the intelligence scale is about three steps above where I choose to dwell... This phenemenon you describe is a horrifying thing for someone like me to witness. My wife and I feel like we live on a planet already overrun by pod people.

    I envy your "not-connected-ness" :) I sometimes feel like I don't need a cell phone, but It is very useful for useful communication of setting up meetings, and exchange important things. I very rarely are on the phone to just talk or text.

    This situation is all too common... My generationand the ones below me will not have any social skills.

    The more options, the better. I have an iPad so a smaller sized cell screen is fine for me.

    I miss tiny phones. I still have all the phones I've ever had and recently saw them in a box in my closet. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but I miss those tiny flip phones.

    I wouldn't want anything bigger than my iPhone. I have an iPad for that reason.
