    Dodgeball is at number 8

No sign of Caddyshack though... :D
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

I think Hoosiers and Field of Dreams might be my 2 favorite movies of all time, so I think they should be higher on the list! :x

Dodgeball at 8 surprised me...hilarious movie, but is Dodgeball even a sport?
If so, Kingpin should be higher than 19...and ya, if comedy counts, shouldn't Caddyshack be there?

Can't stand these flash slideshow lists that don't give you an actual list  Not sure if I'm missing some....
    Where's Goon? Youngblood?
    And no American Anthem? pffft...

    And ya, the writer....re: Slapshot:

"If there's one thing that most hockey films prove (and even films that simply feature a scene with the sport in it, such as Chasing Amy), it's that it seems to be about the fights more than the actual scores"

In real life? not just hockey satire and 80's brat pack vehicles? Tell that to the Mighty Ducks...or Team USA in Miracle, on our own list....mofo

    Puttin on the foil....

    Terrible list IMO.

I hate that Flash Crap too.

I felt it tried way too hard to weave in obscure movies.

Also, Jerry MaGuire as a 'sports movie' ahead of The Natural, Field of Dreams, Slapshot, etc. Yeah, OK.
  • JK_LivinJK_Livin Posts: 7,365
There's about as much football in Jerry macguire as there is golf in Caddyshack. Any Given Sunday? This list is crap. The Longest Yard at 49 and Hoosiers around 20. If there is any surfing movie on the list it has to be Point Break :D
    Alright, alright, alright!

If you can win based on a points system, i.e. Doesn't require a judge to make a 'winning' decision, then it's a sport in my book.

Any Given Sunday or The Matrix (race and gender)
Million Dollar Baby or Blue Crush (gender and sexuality)
Fight Club (masculinity and male homosexuality)

Midterm: Remember the Titans (how disney solves race in 2 hours)

    The U (race and class)
    Fever Pitch (gender and sexuality)
Bend it Like Beckham (race and gender)

    Final:
Sugar/Speed Racer/Fast and Furious/Caddyshack/Sandlot (depends on how the class goes)

    81 you'd like the class I think

i doubt i would like any class you teach, but to be fair, i couldn't sit thru any class on any topic with any professor these days.

i have no attendance policy and we watch movies for more than 50 percent of the classes then we argue about them on the other days. you could do that in your sleep i think.

Yeah, there are some rough ones out there. I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't love Bull Durham.
