Can't decide on what shows to see...

Because I can't afford to see all the shows I want. I've seen threads similar to this, and now it's my time to ask for some suggestions from the board:

Counting Crows
Jane's Addiction
Melvins
Old 97's
Sharon Van Etten
Dinosaur Jr.
Father John Misty

Jane's Addiction is already in the bag, just don't have my ticket right now. I'm trying to decide which others to pick...
7/2/06 - Denver, CO
6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2

Avoid the Counting Crows. Saw them a couple years ago and it was Almost funny bad. Adam didn't want to be there, and they travel with a rapper!

That's funny, they're a band I really want to see... but, the tickets are $38+ and it's a show with a bill of bands I've never heard of, and really, I just want to see Counting Crows.

Definitely going to get a ticket for this guy, I think. His latest album is fucking killer.

One of my favorites of the year. Some songs make me laugh, even though I'm not sure they are supposed to  .

The thing I hear a LOT about Counting Crows is that they are very hit or miss. Saw them in 2008 and they were on. I personally love CC and it was definitely worth it, but I have heard of some times where they have been just awful live.

If you've never seen Jane's Addiction live before, do it! I think you gotta see them at least once :)

    Melvins and Dinosaur Jr.

My buddy is a huge fan of the counting crows and won't go see them cause Adam spoken words the songs and doesn't actually sing them. He even put on a live cd for me that has Adam spoken words the songs.

I have seen them before and will definitely be going to this show too. That one was a no contest for me.

    I'm leaning towards

    Jane's
    Father John Misty
    Melvins
    Dinosaur Jr.

Sharon Van Etten is on my birthday - maybe something will happen with that.

Everyone, thank you for your input. :geek:

Counting Crows are the most expensive ticket, and yeah, considering I've heard this from multiple peopl, I'm hesitant. I also have a friend who's a huge fan, and of course, he's going. He actually got me into the band, but I just don't want to gamble a good performance.

I'm a little late on this, but I highly recommend seeing Old '97s. Quality band right there.

More shows have reared their heads. My concert outlook is:

    Washed Out
    Father John Misty
    Melvins
    Jane's Addiction
    Delta Spirit

Still on the fence about Dinosaur Jr., Old 97's, and David Bazan.

Good to know. I had kind of written that one off, but it's coming up soon and I might be able to swing it. School starting is an interesting obstacle with concerts.

I really like their stuff that I've heard. I'll keep it in consideration.
