Has anyone been to a show yet on this tour or going to see an upcoming show? I haven't seen Aerosmith since 1997 in Panama City Beach, but I'm going to the concert in Atlanta tomorrow night at Philips Arena. I'm hearing that it's off to a great start and the setlist has a lot of old school songs. Cheap Trick is also getting great reviews as the opening band. (In my opinion, Cheap Trick is easily one of the most underrated rock bands ever.) I follow hard rock/metal guru, Eddie Trunk, on his Twitter account and on his weekly radio programs and he gave a good play-by-play from last night's show in New Jersey.

I haven't seen them in a few years, they also had Cheap Trick open for them. At the time, it was the most I've ever paid for a show - around $75-$80. I didn't think it was worth it, to be honest. They didn't seem to make a connection with the crowd at all.

    They played PC though? Killer!

The section I'm in is the $45.00 upper-level area. But, concert tickets are out of this world expensive now with LiveNation and Ticketmaster forming the big conglomerate.

I saw the opening night of the tour, really enjoyed the show. My only complaint was the length of Aerosmiths set, maybe 95 minutes tops, and that they did I don't Want to Miss a Thing, ugh. Cheap Trick was fantastic and played about an hour.
  • I saw them on June 19th In Cleveland. Before I went everybody was telling me that it was pointless to go because they couldn't play anymore...and they were dead wrong! They played both old and a couple of new songs. It wasn't bad length either, which surprised me after all I had heard. All in all it was an awesome show with a very cool setlist!!

The following was the setlist two nights ago in NJ. There was even a cool Run-D.M.C. reunion.

I survived the show last night in Atlanta. It was very high-energy and Tyler's voice surprised me with how good it sounded. The setlist differs a little each night, so it's not anything like a Pearl Jam show where you see twenty new songs each night on the tour. Cheap Trick sounded great as well. Robin Zander can still hit the high notes.

The arena was packed. I went to the Roger Waters 'The Wall' back in June and the Tom Petty show in the same arena in August 2010 and both of those shows were far from sellouts and people in the higher levels were reassigned seats to lower sections. That was not a problem last night as Aerosmith appears to be a big ticket seller right now.

I wish they would do a tour where the only did songs from 1979 and earlier!

    Pretty descent show tonight.

I finally saw cheap trick after missing 3 free chances. LOL! Zander's voice is still pretty good, hit the high notes well.

Aerosmith was very good as well. I've heard from friends that they are hit or miss. Tonights show was pretty good. I enjoyed both bands.

Saw them two years ago in Prague (day after PJ at Wuhlheide), since my wife is a huge Aerosmith-fan. It was a really good show, they were lively, rocked as hard as their old asses allows them to, and Steven sounded good. Mostly a greatest hits kinda show, which was cool for me, since I'm not very familiar with their catalogue, but a good, fun show all the same!

Fun show last night1 Here's the setlist of what we got:

    http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/aerosmith ... ce998.html

While it was only 20 songs, they turned a couple into jams, so they played closer to 1:45mins. Would have been cool to see more of the older classics, but appreciated the effort just the same. Steven Tyler still brings it and Joe Perry make a fine side kick for the energy on stage. Show of the year? No, but happy to have a good night out and "let the music do the talkin'."
Cheap Trick was good. They need to change up their setlist a tad as it was very back heavy with the hits, but all-in-all a great opening act for this type of show.
My only complaint is the sound could been better, but not sure if that was due to the band, the venue, or the seats.
Next - Sublime at Red Rocks! :D

Saw the show in Cleveland and it was a great show from both Aerosmith & Cheap Trick. The one thing that would was made the show better would be a few more tunes from the 70s - like Kings & Queens. Unfortunately, most of the crowd is there to hear the 90s pop - Cryin & I Don't want to miss a thing. I can't blame them for the setlist - It's what sells.

Aerosmith was my first concert back in 2002. Coincidentally, Cheap Trick was the opener.

I saw them again almost 2 years later with KISS.

Aerosmith is classic stuff, but I just hope that they've turned down their PA system.
