    Impossible Germany
    Third Eye
    Ramble On
    One Big Holiday
    Red Mosquito
  • 1 Feelin' Satisfied - Boston
i know it's PURE cheese, but, to me, it's also pure ROCK N ROLL ... and more importantly it isn't Jimmy Hendrix, ie. you can probably learn to play it if you try just a little bit ... and it is FUN.

    2 Don't Damn Me - Guns N Roses
imho, the best "guitar song" GnR ever penned. Just balls to the wall rock n roll.

3 We Will Rock You - Queen
Screw "We Are The Champions", this song, once the guitar FINALLY kicks in, just for A MERE FORTY-FIVE SECONDS, is like a little mini-eargasm. Not really that hard, and fun as fuck.

4 Dance The Night Away - Van Halen
i mean ... whats to say? Most fun i've ever had playing E-B-A (is it me or is like every other van halen song E-B-A-C#m ??? functionally speaking it IS their sound???)

5 Flower in the Sun - Big Brother & The Holding Company [w\ Janis Joplin]
Best Janis Song. Intro guitar riff. great fills. Tone in the solo gets me good. Can't even come close to playing this. But it always makes me (in the words of Janis) "try". Doh. :fp:

PS - woulda said "Crazy Train" if i didn't feel it was a cliche. But the After Hours version is unreal.
[BTW, WTG douchebag camera man panning to THE BASS during guitar solo ???WTF???]

Also, just because they are pure fun:
    Surfwax America - Weezer
    and The Brews - NOFX

    And for crying psychedelic tears:
    Candyman - Grateful Dead
Pedal Steel in the recorded version solo is unfettered beauty.

  • Alice in Chains - Dirt

    Fuck yeah!

JUNKHEAD is one of my favs, both generally, AND TO PLAY.
    :D

But Dirt is a good one too!

Junkhead's also a great one to pull out, but I play Dirt so often. I think I may have a problem.

Say It Ain't So - Weezer
    F-Stop Blues - Jack Johnson
Shine on You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd
Fredericia - Do Make Say Think
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - Allman Bros
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

I keep seeing Weezer songs here, but nobody is mentioning my favourite songs of theirs to play: My Name us Jonas and Hash Pipe. they are both fun songs to play without terribly much effort.

not that I'm ABLE to play these songs, but they certainly inspire me to play and improve:
    Mason Williams - Classical Gas
Chuck Berry - Johnny B Good
Cream - Sunshine of your Love
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (or anything Jimi, really)
CCR - Heard it Through the Grapevine

I've heard this one isn't too hard to play - even though I've never looked into it. Great song

Well, Marty McFly could pull it off
    lol.

    Actually, he (Marty) is wrong.
The song (even as played in the movie) is in B FLAT, not "B".
And his hands, even in the beginning close up, are "close" but a fret or two too high.
(you can tell, cuz he goes over the 9th fret marker, and even the pinky should touch the 9 and nothing over it) ... after he's done with the intro riff, he is like 5 to 7 frets too close to the head stock for his chords.
    lol.

I wouldn't say Johnny B Goode is "hard", but it ain't "easy"
The riff through out the song IS easy ... just standard blues 3chord hammer on pull off shit,
but the intro lick is a pain in the ass for a beginner,
and the solo, while not demanding, won't make sense if you don't study your pentatonic positions first.
specifically, THIS one, would help, a LOT.
    lol.
    :D

    e----6

Johnny B Goode - Songster Tab.

    Play it, boys.
    It's fun.
    Inspiring players for decades

    Cock Out Rock Out!
[uh, don't confuse yourself, i think he is playing this version in C, not Bflat. GASP]

    Nice!
Limelight, i used to think was "impossible". now it's just "fun".
that "crunch" tone is so great with a bit of sustain and the volume up LOUD.
Really not that hard. Except the solo is just ... i mean ... does it even qualify as a solo?
    Phish
    THEN
    Jane's

Not to be the stereotypical phish-hater douche ...
but everything in me that cringed when i saw "phish",
my body released in a sigh, when i saw "jane's" ...
    ESPECIALLY
    3 days
    :D

solo at end of song =
    stupid ridiculous.
    :D

[hit me for being a close minded douche. sorry]

    AIC - Angry Chair
Foo Fighters - Times Like These
    Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

I only play acoustic or electro-acoustic and songs are a pleasure to play, sold my electric gear for a Dean 12 string to go with my acoustic collection and I have no regrets.
