it's why you give me peace
peace from the place in the moment when it's sleep or comes in sleeping these words
nothing is equal
it's why everything else cancels out
and what remains is the beauty produced in the song
bigger than us and for that reason
it's why what is sad
stays anyway
it's why the green moss and the dark hour and the velvet dye and blue sky
and the bells rung heard
and the wind round blew
and the sacred grace in all good things
you and the air around it
it's why whether any of this comes back
doesn't matter
so much that I'm getting
from giving to you
