DON'T JUDGE THIS MAN BEFORE YOU HEAR HIS SOLO STUFF. I CAN'T STAND OUR LADY PEACE, BUT I LOVE HIS SOLO STUFF.
With that out of the way, here's his stuff so far:
Love Hope Hero (4 song EP-all of these songs later appear on Hunters Lullaby)
The Hunters Lullaby (first solo album)
Don't Let It Bring You Down - Borrowed Tunes II (Neil Young Tribute)
The Moon Struck One - Garth Hudson Presents a Canadian Celebration of The Band
Pachamama I & II - two 3-song EP's that were for free download last year
We All Get Lighter - upcoming solo album due March 26th, also with a limited run in vinyl format. First single, Montreal, is available for purchase digitally now

His voice is at the worst it ever has been, OLP's music i recent years has been the same generic garbage and ho make everything worse, Raine's ego is so big and he's so full of himself, it's nauseating to watch him.
Personally, I'll be staying away from his solo stuff. Much like I stayed away from the last 10 years of OLP.
I met him a couple of weeks ago, not a hint of ego, he happily signed something and posed for a picture. What's more he sounded fine when I saw the band play - he's never been an amazing technical singer anyway.....
it always makes me laugh when people talk about a celebrity or rock star like they know them.
I have stayed away from OLP for about as long as you, but don't be so close minded. No falsetto garbage, no pop hits. His solo stuff is not even in the same hemisphere as OLP. I'm not comparing him to Ed in any way, but does Ed's solo stuff remind you at ALL of PJ? It doesn't to me.

Even moreso when they're suprised to find that people in bands have egos.
Besides the ego part (which I can't speak of), I pretty much agree with all of this. The recent OLP CDs have been pathetic. I bought into the usual "band speak" that the latest CD would be a return to their roots...blah blah blah. Was totally let down...again. I'm pretty much done w/ OLP (and Raine for that matter).
I never said he didn't. I'm just saying we don't know him, so we can't speak to that.

As for the ego thing, there was a part during one of his new songs where he got off the stage and ran through the almost empty crowd (they were a day act at a festival) and as she made his way back down to the stage he caught himself on the big video screen. He then proceeded to stand there and stare at himself on scren for - no lie - the better part of two minutes during a jam the rest of the band was doing on stage. It was so uncomfortable to watch I was embarrassed for him.
You make a great point though about not comparing him to OLP, that is/was a little narrow minded of me. I'll give it a listen. I mean after all, the price is right if it's something I don't like.
Also, OLP has been solid since the first time i heard Starseed imo. Of course a couple pop songs along the way but every band is guilty of that.

OLP will always be late 90's for me. Havent heard much good from them in a long time.
they've pretty much sucked since their second album. But Raine's solo stuff is really good.
