We've been seeing these rarities show up at soundchecks, but they never materialize during the shows.

What do you think this is all about? They're up to something!

  • Some songs just sound good to soundcheck.

Pilate for example has all of those chords. We have to remember what soundcheck is for. It's so the board gets everything equalized and volume controls etc. since things change between setting up and actually going on. Especially in Europe, where they are pulling into cities and performing the same day. The crew sets up all day, the band sits around, sometimes they get called onstage, but sometimes the first time that they whole thing gets put together is at soundcheck.

Sure, the band warms up, but if there is an opening band, they have to spend the next 2 hours sitting around and you get cold again. Soundcheck is mostly for the crew - and some songs are easier to soundcheck than others.

    Long answer.
We're still making records for people who listen to it all the way through, eyes closed, in that space.

True, but all these songs are good to play live, too. :)

  • They are getting ready for a powerful 5 night Gorge run at the end of October, after the Bridge School Benefit.

at least that's what CNN reports.

  • why isnt All Those Yesterdays ever played???
they need to pull out out for a few shows!!
  • I'm pretty sure the Italian shows won't be that special, there will be rarities, but not more than usual. I hope to be wrong though :)

Yeah... Based on the tour thus far, I predict the following for the Italian shows:

    Alive x5
    Even Flow x 5
    Why Go x5
    Corduroy x5
    Betterman x5
    Do The Evolution x5
    Given To Fly x5
    Severed Hand x5
    WWS x5
    RITFW x5
    Life Wasted x4
    Black x4
    Go x4
    Yellow Led x4

    :)

    I hope I'm wrong.
  • I always believed there were 2 complete staging sets... and they alternated w/each other. While one would be being used in say... Los Angeles, the next would be in Santa Barbara setting up, then after the LA shows, that set would move to San Francisco and set up. And so on...
