It's been 11 years since No Doubt has released an album. Push and Shove is meant to be out in September.

The new single was released today:

As a long-time, super duper No Doubt fan, I hate the new single. Hate it. Just my opinion. They're capable of so much more.

  • I love No Doubt and Gwen too.

IMHO you can clearly hear Gwen, she stands out more than ever. Not in anyway saying the band has faded, just that Gwen has a very strong presence.

It's a long song! I had enough time to like it, then not like it, then like it again. It's definitely not their best. It is almost like they made a dance hall song and a pop song then patched them together. You can almost hear the breaks in the music.

Looking forward to hearing the entire album.

I used to love this band. I saw them with CAKE back in 1995-1996? Great show. Ever since they went more towards the pop sound, I haven't been a fan

The song is ok, but yeah, haven't really been keen on the direction they have moved in since "rocksteady"

Only saw this band once. I saw them open for Bush on their sixteen stone tour. Goo Goo dolls were also on the bill.

They still write some catchy tunes here and there, looking forward to the rest of the album.

It's different. That said, I've heard it probably 5 times since Monday and it has grown on me every time I hear it.

Shit, I remember seeing no doubt back in the early 90's at places like Newport bar and grill. Kind of grew up on them since I attended magnolia and loara high school from 90-93. My cousin is friends with them. He told tony that his house reminded him of an olive garden. Since then Tony's sold and moved from that house. Adrian is the fucken man! That guy cracks me up!
Anybody remember suburban rhythm? That band was the shit! They played some shows with them before they got huge!

The new song SUUUUUUUCKS big time.

It doesn't suck as badly as some of Gwen's solo stuff, but it's definitely not their best work.

So, what you're saying is that Gwen is about 3 steps away from Hot Topic.

Love that quote from K Beetle...one of my favorites.

It's grown on me, but I still don't love it. :(

Oh, boy. This album is probably going to be terrible. :(

Edit: omg! No Doubt's bassist says it's their equivalent of "Bohemian Rhapsody." That's so disrespectful to Queen.

No Doubt & 'Looking Hot': Band Pulls Controversial Music Video

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/04/no-doubt-looking-hot-music-video_n_2072285.html?ir=Entertainment

No Doubt has taken down their music video for the single "Looking Hot."

Released Friday, the video is cowboys-and-Indians themed and the stereotypical images including headdresses, tepees, and smoke signals. They got negative feedback from the Native American community once the video was posted on YouTube.

"As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures," No Doubt said in a statement on their website. "Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history. Although we consulted with Native American friends and Native American studies experts at the University of California, we realize now that we have offended people."

"Looking Hot" is the second single off the band's upcoming album, "Push and Shove." It's the band's first album since 2001's "Rock Steady."

    :fp:
