Will Ron Paul make the RNC a contentious event?

He will have the 2nd most delegates. I cant see many of his supporters going over to support Romney. And he and Romney disagree on a ton of the issues. Certainly they disagree more than Obama and Romney do.

What will the RNC look like? Will it all go off without a hitch?

Should be interesting because Ron Pauls fan base is so diverse. He's got pinko commie radicals like myself supporting him, independants, republicans, libertarians.

I voted Nader the last 2 elections and it seems like Ron Pauls run for the president has possibly been way more successful than naders was.

I don't think it will be contentious at all. I should say, anymore than any convention. The supporters haven't been the ones causing problems. It is reactions to the supporters, and even actions taken to head them off at conventions that have been the problem...only one person's bones were broken at a convention this year and it was a Ron Paul supporter's

I think the convention will be good for the GOP, lots of people with different minds coming together to see if the party can be saved from the Neo-Cons who have completely ruined it.

Ron Paul himself will preach up to the convention decorum and class...MOST of his supporters will do so...but none of the supporters who are there will have the chance to vote for him in anything but a protest vote as he somehow does not have the required amounts of states plurality in order to be nominated from the floor. Lot's of supporters going, but most are tied to Romney or another candidate...his only hope was an open or brokered convention...

I am excited to see what happens, I think it will be a lot more constructive than people think...fox will be in full Y2K mode prior to it and then when nothing happens they will look foolish.

It will be absolutely no contest. Republicans don't like Ron Paul generally. And it is still a mystery why Paul is part of that party to begin with. If he ever wants serious support, he could possibly get it from the opposite party. At any rate, he has no chance. Presidents are chosen, not elected.
