    It's under My Account > Account Info
    On the Profile Tab > Click "Choose File" or "Upload Image"

    They could always remove the abilty to have an avatar and that could solve the problem.

    Remember, the site is still beta and there are 100s of people who want to change their avatars including myself. They will get to it. You won't be stuick with the avocado forever.
