yea there are usually plenty of posters available at the gigs, but for some reason or another, these are typically not signed & numbered. The artists sell a separate lot which are usually limited to about 200-300 which are signed and numbered. Doesnt make much sense to me why you arent able to get a S/N at the show. Am I off here?

I agree with you. I guess for the amount they print there would be a ton of signing and numbering to do...and I guess for some there is the appeal that they are limited when they are S/N.

It's just like when variants are thrown in the mix at shows...it's just an "appeal" factor. Some random, hopefully random, fan will get a variant. Then hopefully he/she doesn't sell it.

There is no way that artist will sit for 3 days to sign 1000 or more copies.
On some small venues you might get some s/n copies but not at the PJ shows it will never happened for PJ.

Artist cut is 200 or 300 copies that they are selling after the show, that's way you payed more for the s/n.
It just makes sense to get singed copy only from the artist.

Ive been told the boxes contain 1000 in them and they get any where from 2 to 20 boxes per show. Like some one else said it depends on the venue size.

Eds shows there was only 3000-5000 per show. Less at the smaller venues.

    I hope this helps :?

I understand the reasoning here, but it just seems to me that they would sell the S/N posters AT the show. I think the fans who actually attend a gig usually have more interest in owning the print as opposed to those who dont attend. But me personally, I'm definitely not spending an extra $70 just for a S/N print.

same here. if I like the poster, I want to have it on my wall, don't really care about s/n or not.
