What an exciting year for music. We're getting new Gaslight Anthem, Toadies, Killers, Band of Horses, Mumford and Sons, Bouncing Souls, etc....and let's hope for the new Pearl Jam! Anybody with me?

I'm excited for Bob Dylan, Animal Collective, MIA, Nas, Passion Pit, and there are some more I'm forgetting about.

Already very happy with Beach House, Dirty Projectors, Jack White, Father John Misty, Glen Hansard, and again, there are more I'm forgetting about :D.

I think this year is already as good or better than most recent years. I'm not really excited for many of the bands mentioned so far, but even if it's a soft 2nd half of the year I'll be happy.

I agree its been a good year, but so far, at the midway point, no album has really blown me away. losts of interesting and bizzare stuff this year though. El-P's newest album is insane. Killer Mike put out maybe the hip hop record of the year. Death Grips are out of their mind and are on the next level. I havent listened yet but it seems like Frank Ocean put out an album of 2012 contender. Thats a name you will hear alot this year. Fiona Apple with her new album thats going to appear on a ton of best of lists in December. Beach House as well. Chromatics have essentially 2 albums that are going to be big on peoples lists, one by the group and then another 2 hour record by Johnny Jewel, both are this 80's Drive feeling. Schoolboy Q put out a great album. DIIV put out a great summer record thats equal parts Cure esque sounding and atmospheric shoegazy guitars and instrumentation. Japandroids fill the void left by Gaslight Anthem the last few years in terms of anthemic singalong music, that said gaslight anthem has a new record out soon.

I think this will be the year of r and B, a continuation of last years love affair with the weeknd and frank ocean. Nothing better than this stuff right now. So far ahead of the curve.
