Was planning on proposing to my girl tomorrow..

She forgot it was her dads birthday.

Her and I are still going out, but earlier in the day. Do I still do it or wait until next weekend???

    She insists on going forward with our special plans.. I tried to replan for next weekend, but she is too busy in the foreseeable future..

    She's actually telling me now she will see her father on Monday so we can still make it our day together. :?

    Our real anniversary is the day we meet, so I'm not sure if tomorrow would be celebrated yearly anyways.

    Thanks. I think she has an idea and that's why she might be insisting we still go ahead with plans.. I don't think wed be celebrating this day next year anyways. Our anniversary would be wedding date or the day we meet.. Shouldnt interfere with her dads Bday.

    I don't think either my wife or myself remembers the day I proposed. we remember the exact way it was done, the excitement, etc, but not the date. as you said, the important dates to remember are behind and ahead of you.

    Found out my cousin is getting married after dating a guy 1 year and only a few months for engagement period.. Seems kind of soon to me considering her first marriage failed after she married quickly and young.


    I'm on 20 months now in my relationship, and plan on a 1 year engagement. Feels right, but I guess it's different with everyone.

    The cousin is pretty religious. There might be some kind of no sex law going on, hence why they seem to be rushing it.

    married 6 months later, just celebrated # 31.
    Maybe they just know it's right!

    But no, for us no abstaining, sex too important a part of attraction to deny,
    too important a part of spending a lifetime together.

    Really, no need for a long engagement, doesn't make marriage any easier
    or more successful.

    Comes down to staying committed to each other, takes two.

    I met my wife in 1991. We were just friends up until 2000. I proposed in 2003. We knew each other inside and out for 12 years, and I was nervous from the time I got the ring to when I proposed (about 2 weeks). But it's something you will never forget.
